I knew that there would be a difference from my kit lens, but did not expect it would be as dramatic a difference as it was.

Traded my old Canon AE1 program, its lenses and my Canon t3i 18-55 mm for the Canon 24-105 l lens. (Still wasn't nearly enough to cover the new lens). Oh well.

Following are the first photographs that I took with the new lens. Wow! what a difference from my 18-55.

Nice! I love the Skink! I had lots of lizards when I was young. Found a male skink just like this one in my yard about 10 years ago. Father-in-law saw it and said he was going to stomp it. I told him he'd better not. A week later he was here for a visit and my skink disappeared. I'll never know for sure.

Some have a bright blue tail. I'm not sure if those are the males or if all juveniles are colored that way. Also, I've learned not to open the garage door if a lizard is close by. They run right in and are next to impossible to get out.

 We have the blue tailed lizards too. Did you know they can bite clear through your thumnail. Don't ask me how I know! If you grab one by the tail, it sheds the tail and keeps going, then grows a new tail. The brown skink is a bit toxic, the male with the bright oragne head being more toxic I think, but they are gorgeous!
