Moving up from a D7100, only if you can afford it. Moving up from a D7000, YES.

Gotta love new toys.
I went through the same thing....D7000 is still working fine, did I really need the D7200??? No, I suppose I didn't NEED it...and dear hubby came to my aid when I was grinding my teeth over "I don't really NEED it..." and said "When has that ever stopped us with anything???" Got the 7200, and at least in my case I'm well pleased with it. Nice thing is, kept the D7000 and God forbid I have a catastrophic booboo while on a trip my picture taking isn't ruined since I have the back up.

It's close to the new year , just wait , the price will drop another $150 to
$200 on a refurb D7200, and there may be more coming on stream, as
There will be more people upgrading . Here is a lot of good buys around
If you just look . There is nothing wrong with one out of the buy sell or kijiji
Or crags list . If you know cameras and know how to test one , try all f-stops ,shutter speeds rapied fire , white balance , iso, focusing , shake
Body for rattles , low shutter count , manual focus . There is no need to
Buy refurb if you know what your doing . As you save half the price of a refurb after haggling . I bought a one year old D90 body with 4000 actuations when the new body was still selling for $1000 I still have it . Could have bought a D700 for $700 three and a half years ago but wasn't
That familiar with the used price or new . By the time I got back to seller
It was gone , and the count on that was only in the 9000 range . You snooze you lose .

Will you be doing anything with the D7200 that you aren't or can't do with the D7000? Will you get far better pictures with the D7200 than you're getting with the D7000? You might want to consider spending that money on a great piece of glass rather than another camera body unless there's something specific that you want to do and can't do with your current camera but could do with a D7200.

If there's a local camera shop in your area you could rent one to see how much you do or don't like it.
