B&H has the 7D Mark II for $1399, including a Pixma printer and a $350 rebate. This brings the price down to $1049 for a new camera and the printer.

I already have the 70D. I'm tempted to upgrade to the Mark II, but I'll really miss the tilting LCD. And advice?

If you're happy with the 70D, why do you need to upgrade? If you're not happy with it, what would you expect from the 7D2 that you aren't getting from the 70D?

I never deal with Canon directly. I use B&H or Adorama for all my camera, and lens purchases. As far a refurbished equipment, Canon refurbished equipment is actually better than "new" since it is fully tested, and certified, and covered with the Canon 1 year warranty. I bought my 7D Mark II, brand new, in the early batch. It did have some focus issue, but I installed the newest firmware upgrade, and the issue was solved. Before you deal again with Canon directly, you may want to look at Canonpricewatch.com for better pricing. They have made a deal with Canon for pricing what is called "street pricing" and update it regularly for the best deals in Canon products.

Not dismissing refurbs, but I have 4 Canon bodies, including a 7D Mark II, bought new that have never had any problems. Right now a 7D2 can be bought new from B&H, with a Canon photo printer, for less than the cost of a refurb. Its a no brainer to my mind.

After a week dealing with Canon I am ready to pull my hair out. I took the advice from my friends here on UHH. I ordered my 7D Mark II bundle from
B&H late yesterday. What a pleasant experience that was. I am told that I should receive my camera by Wednesday afternoon.

I am looking forward to this and can't wait to see how much of a difference there is between my T2i and the 7D Mark II

I want to thank everyone for their input on my concerns.

Congratulations. I've got both as well as a 60D. The price you paid is a terrific bargain. You will not see a huge difference in image quality in good light, but the 7D2 is much better in a thousand ways. There is a fairly extensive learning curve to truly understand it and get the best from it. After all it comes with a 548 pages page manual. If you take the time to master it, I don't think you'll be disappointed. By the way, I hope you know it's almost twice the size and weight of your current camera.

In addition to the manual, which I've read cover to cover, you should search for, and read, the 50 page Canon 7D Mark II AF Settings Guidebook, available online from Canon as a PDF file. It covers in detail the 7 focus modes and the 6 user modifiable movement tracking cases.

Thanks you.
I just got my notice from UPS that I can expect a package tomorrow. What a difference there is between B&H and dealing with Canon.
I realize there is a higher learning curve associated with this camera. That's fine with me. I can't wait to get started. I like to photograph anything and I am hoping that I will be able to see the difference. between the two. I do like taking photographs of birds in flight. I understand that is the area where the 7D Mark II really shines.
Thanks again for the input. Your input helped me make my decision.

Getting BIF done right is difficult, but this camera will excel at it with the right lens. This is where mastering the 7 focus modes and 6 tracking cases comes in to play. Here's a link to the Guidebook. You can get started even before your camera arrives! There is a downloadable PDF file link on the bottom left of the page.

Thank you for the link to the Guidebook. I have been reading it. It really is going to be helpful. I also bought another book on the 7D MK II. This books it titled: From Snapshots to Great Shots. The author's name is Jeff Revell. This book should be helpful as well. I am waiting for the UPS truck to arrive today to deliver my new camera. I am anxious to get started.
