The question is not hard. Getting you to understand what I am saying seems to be quite difficult. As I said, I was trying to give my opinion and a general answer to a hypothetical general question of what someone else (Obama) would want to do. You want to bring up specifics. I am not about to get into an endless debate over antique military firearms. What would be next, a musket, a blunderbuss, a 1911 colt 45? Do you really not know the difference between what these days are referred to as an assault weapon and an antique military weapon? If not, google it.
On second thought, I decided to make it easy for you. The following is the definition of assault weapon from wikipedia. If you have a problem with their definition take it up with them. Read it and then you can make up your own mind about if a non-automatic rifle made in 1903 for the military fits the definition of a modern day assault weapon. You don't need my opinion.
