I am surprised that you ask this question. You need to re-read the question and my answer. I gave a general answer to a hypothetical general question. You are asking for specifics, such as antique firearms. Furthermore, the question was not addressed to me but I thought it deserved and answer so I gave my opinion of what I thought Obama would like to to do, which was based on nothing he has said. And yes, as you well know, the constitution does not address sport weapons etc., I never said it did. I simply used the term to differentiate between hunting guns and military weapons in order to clarify what guns I THOUGHT (as that was the question) Obama would like to see banned.

Even without military experience, I would expect you would have a pretty good idea what an assault weapon is especially since I gave some examples. If you desire further clarification I hear the internet is a good place to find answers to questions such as this.

To make it easier to refer to my answer, I re-posted it below.

I think he would like to ban all assault weapons that were designed for military use, such as AK-47s, M-16s, Uzis, and their colones such as the Bushmaster. He might want to ban all firearms that are not designed for sport use such hunting or target shooting. Again, this is only my opinion which is based on nothing he has said.

An M-16 is not an assault weapon until it is picked up, taking in hand and then used to ASSULT someone. Otherwise, it is just a gun. Likewise a hammer or a ball bat. Even a shotgun can become an assault weapon.
