Trying to install LR6 on a Mac yesterday, I was told that I had reached my limit (2), and I would have to deactivate one to install on this machine. That's what I did, and it installed fine. That got me to wondering if any of you have bought two copies of LR to run on several computers.

The last version I bought, I loaded one on my PC desktop and the other on my Apple laptop. For additional computers, I leave the older versions on until it's time to upgrade.

The license is for two computers at one time. You can move it.

This is the main reason for having more than one copy. ""You can Move it."" The time involved, and the chance of a screw up in moving.

If you mean by "You can Move it" - uninstall on one computer, then install on another one, there's no need.
Just install it on as many computers as you need, activate on two of them, then when you want to use it on another one, deactivate one instance, and activate on the computer you want to use.

If/when you "hit the road" and take your laptop, make sure you deactivate LR on (one of) your home computer(s) before you leave, otherwise you wouldn't be able to use it away from home.

I bought a physical copy of LR 6 and am running CC. I have LR 6 on one of my laptops, and have CC installed on two desktops and one other laptop. I switch activation between one desktop and the laptop when I travel. The laptop with LR 6 is not used for production work, but if it gets too out of date I'll have to review my situation.

The limit is having 2 up and running copies at any time. You can deactivate and move to a different computer.

You can install it on several computers, you can have it activated on two at a time.

However, I do have two copies of LR, one is the CC2015 the other is the stand alone LR6 (I also own 5.7 but don't use it, it is still there just incase. I guess that makes 3 LR for me.)

I had to purchase the stand alone with a different account using a different e-mail address (got this info and help from Adobe Tech Support) otherwise the stand alone kept upgrading to the CC2015 version. It still tries to do that, but is set to only upgrade with permission. To upgrade the stand alone I go through the Help menu and do it manually, the auto upgrade still tries to convert to CC2015 but I tell it NO and continue manually.

That is "deactivate" not uninstall. It leaves the program there, it is just non functional until you deactivate on another computer and activate on the one you want to use.

Lightroom 5 is a lot more relaxed, about installs, still only used one at a time by me.

Lightroom has to be the most readily available and easy to get program on the net. Just download a torrent version and install it on as many computers as you like. Updated versions are normally 48 hours behind Adobe. So at update time just reinstall with new version.
Its free with no initial purchase and no ransom type monthly payments.

If I did that, I'd have a SWAT team show up at my house and be hit with a $10,000 fine and jailed for fifty years. :D

Stealing is stealing. A paid subscription cost is equal to 1 cup of coffee per week. I would rather support a company and have them continue improving their product.
