Ordered a used EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM from Adorama!
I should be getting it later today!
I plan on breaking it in on Sunday during the Philadelphia Marathon. Forecast for Sunday is 50% chance of showers.
Any advice on getting the most out of this lens would be appreciated.
(I got a case of PF , so my heel won't allow me to run this year)

You are not going to be disappointed !
I got that same lens about 2 months ago along with the 24-70 f2.8. It is a great lens. I am able to shoot high school football games under the lights with it and get acceptable images.

Attach it to your camera!
But seriously, I have the f4 non-IS version, so I'm jealous. Even that is a great lens! Best advice I can give is do a search on youtube for reviews of that lens for ideas of the types of shooting you can do. Also, just go on a ford trip somewhere and commit to using only that lens for the day (I've done that with different lenses).

I've used that lens for the past two years , it's a little heavy (that does not bother me at all) it is hands down the best lens I have ever picked up. You will love it i'm sure

Sounds like you got the original. Used properly, it's a fine lens.
On full frame:
While it works well for dreamy portraits, wide open, it performs MUCH better for sports at f/4 to f/8. I liked it at most focal lengths, but especially in the middle of the range. Performance falls off above 135mm, especially when it's used wide open. Best performance at the low end of the zoom is at f/5.6; at the high end, it's f/8.
My experience with this lens, about 7 years ago, was that it worked much better on full frame cameras than on APS-C cameras.
On APS-C:
Performance is not as good overall. It's best at 100mm, f/4 to f/8, best at f/5.6. I used to avoid 200mm except at f/8 or maybe f/11. Performance is average at other focal lengths and apertures.
That said, for a zoom of its vintage, it's a special piece of glass. You should have a lot of fun with it!

I have one and love the low light high speed super sharp shots I get with it. I did some basketball action shots with it that turned out great
with a 7DMKII. I found that it works great with a Canon 1.4XIII extender
for baseball and as an all around lens. I think you will really be pleased
with it. Dennis
I'm right behind you. I researched the heck out of this lens and will be buying one before the year is out. Good luck.

That's called auto-correct "helping" and me not catching it.

Congrats! I have one and love it, many say that the new 100-400 is an acceptable substitute, but I am not so sure, I have both lenses and when there is a family gathering it will always be the 70-200 that gets mounted to my camera.
Don't expect a huge improvement over your other lenses, or you will be disappointed.

I bought the 70-200 f/2.8 L II a while back and have been wanting to do some basketball shots with it on my 7DII. Glad to hear that it works out good. How does the anti-flicker feature perform? I've shot soccer with my 7DII and 100-400 L II and that is also a good combination.
I'm sure the OP will enjoy his new lens. All of the 70-200 Canons are fine lenses.
