The president of France is the first politician to declare the recent attacks as an "act of war". This means WW III, and the opponents are shaping up as the civilized world against an unknown number of fanatic Moslems, most of whom are Arabs in Africa and Asia, possibly as many as 1.2 billion people. Since most of these terrorists are hiding among civilian populations, we are talking about a sort of war that would amount to nothing less than a genocide of enormous proportions. I hope everyone thinks twice about this and focuses on the root causes of the present situation. It is entirely within the realm of logic that world peace would be a much better solution.

They are killing people that have done nothing to them so how do you achieve world peace? They hate us for our lifestyle, so what are you saying is the solution because you just can't announce that we now have world peace?

Edit: I just read more of your responses - never mind, I'm not interested in reading about stuff that will never happen.

You misunderstand Miranda. The SCOTUS never demanded it be part of the arrest process. It is merely a rule governing the admissibility of evidence.
One can be arrested, and convicted, of any number of crimes without ever being read his rights.

They don't hate us for our lifestyle. They hate us because we are infidels. Until we are all dead or converted there will never be peace with islam.

Somewhat of a distinction without a difference. Our lifestyle includes not being muslim.

It also includes bacon, bikinis, and booze. The real problem is the inability of the islamic world to tolerate infidels. It is an existential conflict, and all that remains at this point is to pick a side to be on.

They just had Obamas Security guy on the news. When asked if they still plan on bringing in 10,000 Syrian "refugees" (aka potential terrorists) he said they were. He clamed they would "vet" them to ensure no terrorists.

The news guy asked, "Where you gonna get the information to do that?" The nincompoop had no answer for that.

It took 8 terrorists to wreck the havock in Paris. 24 on 9/11.

How many hundred will get here amongst the 10,000?

Well, this crowd will be out by then and not held accountable.

Grrrr.

"Genocide", doesn't that amount to them or us? Isn't genocide what the Islam radical are seeking to do, kill everyone who does not agree to their way of life. Genocide, you need to thing twice about that word and how it will affect you from a different point of view.

How do you propose we do this, since the terrorists apparently want to kill us and take over the world? Do we just give in?

I agree in principle, however, if you offer these people the olive branch, they will regard it as a sign of weakness, and attack with more venom.

Please see above my reply to a similar reaction. The terrorists have very limited capacity and can only conduct small operations, while we not only have far superior conventional weapons but -if pushed hard- we can repeat Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
