It came from a recommendation on here.

I use this program too. It’s Jeffrey Friedl’s Exif Image Metadata Viewer. It’s excellent, free, and works with Mac.

Thanks folks. You all rose to the occasions. I think I have enough suggestions to get on with now, if one doesn't work out I can always try another. I didn't know that there were so many of the available and free too.

Much appreciated.

Too both look at and manipulate (most) of the exif data I use exiftool http://owl.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/

For example if I want to strip out most of the exif data but put a copyright back in before I post the image I would do something like this:

exiftool -all= -copyright="2015 John Doe" image.jpg

That would give me two files, the original unmodified (image.jpg.original) and image.jpg changed as described above.

jagdpanther. Thanks for that very useful information. At this stage I only need something basic and easy to work with. I have changed my mind (see previous message) and I am trying Firefox FXIF. I have also updated my Firefox too.

Thanks everyone for your help. I am a young retired and at 67 it is not easy, but I am hanging in there. What, I am not old yet?

Take a look at "Hornil Photo Viewer" or "Fastone Image Viewer"
