Can any member please tell me of an easy program that enables me to view the data of a photo, like the ones posted on this site.

I am using Windows 8 and Chrome as my browser.

Thanking you in anticipation of your help.

Posted this a while back -- may or not be helpful, but short.

ExifPro is free and should make you happy.

Most photo editing programs can read EXIF data. Irfanview is a free program that will view many file formats.

I haven't tried to read the data from images posted here because when I first joined I read this in the rules.

"We strip EXIF data from uploaded images to protect user's privacy."

I chose to download ExifPro as you recommended and it is listed in my downloads.

I was hoping to view the information of the photos posted on this site, but apparently that information is stripped out to protect people's privacy. I am sure if that is not correct Administration will put us right.

The next question is, how do I use it now that I have downloaded it? Do excuse my ignorance.

Each program might bring the info up a little differently.

With IrfanView you click on Image/Information/EXIF

In order to view the EXIF data on this site the person posting has to check the box to says store original. You can tell they did that because you get the option to download the photo.

Exif info is stripped from the "thumbnail" images, but NOT from (store original) images.
