Just want to add my admiration for what you are doing. This country would be a better place if there were more people like you. He is at such an impressionable age and the direction and attention you are giving him will make a big difference in the rest of his life. God Bless You.
and he took a great photo.
He's done a very good job there.Lovely shot.

Again thanks everyone. I really didn't post this to get parse, it is nice of all of you, and it makes my heart happy and full. You are all good folks. I just wanted you to see how good he was doing. I am a little embarrass. Not use to all of this. It might go to my head. :-D

When he starts shooting better photos than you it'll bring you back down. You should be proud that a young fella may look towards you as a mentor---better than sitting on his backside playing video games........
This young man must be very proud of himself -- the photo of his eagle is beautiful! You should tell him you shared his picture with us and everyone loved it! Wonderful thing you're doing for this young man. Casser
Erv you are a good mentor and a better man. You've helped me when I couldn't figure something out.
So let me ask the obvious question, how old is this young man?
Great photo & a great story! ;)

He turns 12 in MAy. I already got him a used SB800. Found it at the flea market a few weekends ago. So I can get mine back! ;)
I was lucky I had my camera with me taking some pictures there and got to try it out. It is a little scratched up and was dirty but works great. I have it all clean and pretty for him. And the best part! $20!!!

No, the best part is that you are giving it to him expecting nothing in return.

No, I do want mine back ;) I forgot to add, he is going to show me this weekend how to use my SU800. I got it for Christmas and have not had time to even read the book. He took the book home and has been playing with both of them. Young kids nowadays amaze me how fast they can pickup on things.

It's amazing. When I got my cell phone I asked the clerk who sold it to me, "How do I put a name into the phone book?" "I don't know," she said. Standing along side of me was a boy about eight or nine and I asked him, "Do you know how I can add a name to my phone book."
He grinned at me and held out his hand. I handed him the phone and he held it up so I could see and said, "You do this, and then this, and this." He handed the phone back and said, "Now you can add the name and then just click OK and turn it off." I said, "Thanks, do you have a phone?"
He shook his head and said, "But they're easy to figure out." He shrugged his shoulders and walked away. I'm glad he thought they're easy, I don't.
Good luck with your fella and bring a paper and pencil LOL
Erv, a computer will be Next, then he can log on to the HUH and show you up!!(lol)

Just turning 12? OMG are you in trouble. LOL He is an amazing boy. Thanks again. No need to be embarrassed, just accept the praise for doing something good and maybe getting others involved.
ERV, don't be embarrased. Accept the Kudos like a man and just be quick to pass them on to the next person who shows kindness.
