It is $1.77 in Hermitage TN. Unfortunately I am moving to Indiana and it is always higher there :?

And to think we worried about the prices leaving us short of money on our CA to FL and back honeymoon in Dec 73-Jan 74. Along I-10 we paid 60 cents and up at times.
Even worse, my senior year in high school with my first car I sometimes paid over 20 cents a gallon for premium. But during "gas wars" I often got premium for 12 and 13 cents.

Except for California, because we have tax upon tax here.
And Illinois is not too far behind.
Wow! Keep those tanks full...until prices start to rise again. It's $2.05 in Indiana near me.

Sarge, it's $1.97 here in Peoria, IL this morning as well!

Yupper - In 1959/60 I could buy gas at .20 cents a gallon in Conn. but gas wars went to .15 a gallon and my uncle and I would drive his pickup with a couple 55 gallon drums and fill them up for his wood cutting equipment.

Seems like yesterday doesn't it? I worked for my uncle in a small country grocery/gas store and I remember selling gas for .12 a gallon and we pumped it!

Are you bragging or complaining? Here it's $257/gal at Costco. More every place else. I'm complaining but not as much as I was the beginning of summer when the prices sored to $359/gal
I filled up at Costco a couple of days ago for 1.67 in St Louis County.
When I graduated high school gas was .31 cents and gas wars would bring it down to .25 to .27 cents. Right now in NC where I live it's $1.96 to $2.03.
Too bad gas wars are illegal now, I believe.
1.69 in Tomball, Texas the day before yesterday. Ahh, the
good old gas war days, 11.9 cents a gallon about 58' or 59'
in my hometown, didn't last long, it then went up to 24.9
regular price.
Very expensive in California. Larcenous state taxes and larcenous city taxes. Also due to idiocy of our state legislators, who mandate that gas sold here must be formulated differently from that of the rest of the country. The requirement adds massive expenses to both production and transportation of gas.
Aviation fuel is a little higher than car gas. It is low-lead and high octane. The flying dudes are working hard to get airplane engines to run on car fuel but it's a difficult process with many technical hurdles to overcome.
Up here in Minneapolis I paid $2.159 two hours ago. The station is typically 20 to 30 cents cheaper than all the others.
