I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet and have been very pleased. I bought mine here as a refurb and it came with a one year warranty and was perfect, couldn't tell it had ever been used.

I saved a lot of money with this company, I'm sure there are others. The one year warranty was why I went with this company.
You said you wanted a 12", here is a link for one of them with this company.

I asked my 13 year old granddaughter for advice. She said "Samsung Adroids are for boys and Apple iPads are for girls." I asked why. She said, "Because it works better that way."

Sometimes a 13 year old granddaughter has the best logic. You gotta love'em.

I am looking at getting a new tablet and maybe someone can help me. The present tablet I have is a Sony with a 10" screen. I 'd like to get one with a larger screen if possible. I'm not interested in those 2 in 1 laptops and the only tablets with hte bigger screens are the new I pad pro or the Samsung Galaxy Note. They both have screens that are a little over 12". The I pad pro which will be coming out in November has a 12.9" screen and the Samsung has a 12.2"screen. My question is does anyone have one of the Samsung Galaxy tablets and how do you like it? The apple tablet I'm sure is awesome but I doubt if you will be able to pick one of those up for months because of the demand. If anyone can help I would appreciate your feedback.

Thank you

Rich

I have had two Samsung Galaxy Tabs and loved them both. I think they are better to use than the iPad that I had first. Of course none of these were 12 inch or greater. My first was an iPad that was a constant frustration because it required special connectors that were not consistent with any of my computers. It also required only one source for apps, limited by Apple. Only app writers who would submit to Apple's 30% rake-off could sell.

Finally, it was erratic, sometimes a swipe would work and sometimes it wouldn't.

The first Samsung also had a strange connector, but there were many 3rd party vendors. Otherwise, it worked consistently and quickly. I eventually went the opposite way from you, I decided that my needs were better served with an 8 inch. This one comes with a standard usb port and standard micro-sd card, and a standard file structure.

Oh and with Samsung there is no censorship of apps, except that the official site does provide malware checking.

I've had the Galaxy Note 12.2 for two years, I love it, but I'm not sure you can run a full version of Photoshop. The Play Store has has a lite version not too impressed.

Hello, Well I live in an apartment building with a bunch or seniors and some of us have tablets. There is Wi-Fi in the apts. I own a ACER 10.1 inch tablet and am very happy with the reception I get with it. There folks who have I pad's, Kindle's and a few others. They all have to go into the hallways with there tablets to use them and I am able to use mine any where I want to go in the building. In my apartment or not.
You might check what ACER has, as they work.

Congratulations on the iMac with 5k!! Me thinks the iPad may be a better match with the iMac. Disclaimer......I am an Apple Fan Boy.

I have been using the iPhone and iPad combination for three years now and took the plunge and added a MacBook Pro a year ago. I have learned that the symbiosis of the Apple system coupled with Adobe CC is very powerful and flexible. My purpose is far from professional, but I really enjoy knowing that my LR synched collections are auto-updated anytime I make a change.
My iPad is the Air I and its very quick.
Also the shared PhotoStreams allow quick distribution of photos to family members devices, assuming they also have i devices.

All that to say that to get the most out of an iPad you really need to buy into the whole system. (I don't see a need for the watch, though.)
CC is running well on my 13 inch MacBook. Adobe Fix is phenomenal on my iPad. I am experimenting with the Canon Selphie portable printer which is proving to be a lot o fun, albeit expensive on the expendables.
I am also playing with Adobe Ink. It's pretty cool with the Adobe iPad apps.
My Windows PC just sits there on my other desk. I turn it on occasionally to do the updates, but that's about it.

I have the Samsung Note Pro 12.2 and I love it. It is the perfect companion to my Samsung smart TV for screen mirroring. Coupled with the bluetooth Logitech keyboard case and Samsung mouse it functions perfectly as my computer away from home. The included s-pen is such a remarkable accessory and makes editing, drawing and note-taking a pleasure. The Photoshop mobile app is quite lacking but Lightroom mobile has become quite a robust photo editing app with the last few updates. There are countless other editing and drawing apps available which I haven't experimented much with but I will note Sketchbook and Artrage ($5) which are great for drawing. The Note Pro is fast, the screen is beautiful and a $6 dollar OTG USB 3.0 cable from amazon allows me to plug in thumb drives, portable hard drives and card readers to transfer photos from my camera card or to attach my camera, which is also recognized. Having accessories attached to my tablet while stationary isn't as daunting as mentioned and the truth is that my laptop at home or any other computer I've ever used has accessories attached. The accessories are only attached for the time it takes me to transfer files, otherwise I'm working off of the installed 128 gig micro-sd card.

Having said all of that and loving my tablet immensely I would highly recommend one of the Surface Pro (Pro 3 or 4 with at least an i5 processor) tablets for your needs and for any serious computer work. It's a computer and you just can't beat an actual computer with actual programs. I love my tablet but if I didn't already have my fully loaded Asus ROG laptop to turn to for serious stuff I would have gotten the Surface Pro.

I just received a Samsung Galaxy S2 9.7 in tablet. I find it exceeds my expectations. The picture quality is outstanding. You can add memory up to 128 g. I tried larger tablets. They were not handy. They were hard to hold. They also were the size of small laptops, which was my purpose in getting a convenient tablet. The Samsung will also hook up with your phone and other blue-tooth devices. If your device is Samsung, connections are so easy. I have a very usable small keyboard I got for $28. With the right tablet holder, it does not add much weight or bulk.

I would like to do some photo editing (photoshop) and print out on my Canon Pro 100. This Sony tablet I have just doesn't have enough memory ( only 16 gb) . Whatever tablet I get will have a minimum of 64. I have trouble getting the printing app to work properly.

Can a tablet screen be calibrated? And I thought there was no Photoshop for Android O/S? Have these things changed?

While there are some apps available to edit photos on a tablet, they tend to be limited in functions. I have used Photogene, Filterstorm, and Photoshop Express with limited ability to do any major edits.
I have found that the best use of a tablet as relates to travel and portability is for review of the daily shoot and some upload of examples to friends, family, and publishers. I need more processing power for lightroom, Photoshop, On1, etc in order to do any final rendering. Other folks experience will vary depending on their needs, of course.
I have decided to upgrade to the Surface 4 when it is released so that I can use the available applications that I would normally use on the MacBook, but with less size and space requirements.
I would highly recommend you consider exactly what you plan to do with the tablet and make an informed decision based on that. Don't waste your money on a solution that won't satisfy your needs.
Just my $.02
