I did the upgrade - no issues noted. But, in Lightroom itself, there's only one new feature (haze removable is available on adjustment brushes), so it's not a very material upgrade.

The service steam is normally for fixes. They usually save functional upgrades for new releases. Are you assuming they are going to inundate you with new function(s) at every fix package. In addition, while it may not seem to be a material update, maybe the de-hazer is a 100 thousand lines of code where other changes a few hundred.

If they keep doing that, I wonder if there will every be another release number?

I, too had to switch from Aperture. I find Lightroom much less user friendly and more subject to "glitches" Happy that I bought the disk for LR6 and not the cloud version. Will continue to watch before any upgrading!

According to the Adobe statement, see reply prior to this, you are the exact reason for this update. They said too many new people are unhappy with learning the complexities of LR. Stay with it. I love LR and it is the first step in processing my RAW files.

Don't do the upgrade until the fix is in. It would be a good idea to subscribe to some helpful website that offers training and opinions regarding LR. I have had great luck with Laura Shoe. She actually cares about users and says to not upgrade until the fix is in. Not bad for someone who is a dedicated LR user.

"The Lightroom team wanted to let the community know that we’re investigating some critical performance and crasher bugs, and will be issuing an update shortly to address them."

If you are talking about the latest update 2015.2.. I applied it a couple of days ago and find it just fine. The key feature added is the dehaze slider is now available to use with the local adjustment brush, radial filter and graduated filter which makes it much more useable to add haze or take it away from a small area of the image. Performance wise I find it slightly better than the prior 2015.1 still a little sluggish at times but better.

Any opinions on the LR Creative Cloud update that came out a couple days ago?

Note: I'm not interested in opinions on the merits of the CC, I'm interested in knowing if anyone has tried the latest update and if so, what they think of it.

Thank you.

What operating system are you on? MAC? Windows?

I got the updates and now have problems, LR freezes, loads some images very slowly. Often becomes unresponsive and needs to be closed and reopened. Is it the upgrade or something else, I don't know.
I am also a bit put out by the changes in the controls and interface. Things have been changed and moved around to the point that I have to hunt to find how to do many things. Often basic things.
I am going to give it a while before I contact adobe to give them a few days to put out fixes on their own.

Here's something to read (especially the cautions)

I hadn't even heard of a new update. Adobe failed to notify me. I guess I'll wait too.

I haven't read all the posts but it would be helpful to know if you were a Mac or a PC user.

Victoria Bampton, the Lightroom Queen, has advised against it. That's good enough for me.

I'm running it on Windows 10 with no problems at all. What do I think of it? I think is an improvement speed wise and having the Dehaze on the adjustment brush is very handy.

Hmmm. I got an email from Phill Steele saying something similar and warning not to upgrade. Unfortunately I already did.

I guess Adobe is copying Apple's Photos, now Photo, escapades.

Got the same email from Phil. Haven't done anything yet. Waiting for Adobe to acknowledge the problem and tells us what they're going to do about it. Phil also said he was going to get back to us on it.

My Windows 10 took update 2015.2 just fine. Runs just fine, although I had to work my way through the changed import process.
