Again... so narrow minded.

The point of my post was to have both options when you get home. For sure, shoot in color, but enjoy the option to see the great things one can do with B&W.

That was also the opinion of my ignorant friend when he said bring the color home on the memory card, and also, why he often shot (on large format film) Many shots duplicated in Color and also on his favorite B&W film.

And Fall colors in B&W have impact as well as color renditions, if one truly knows how to filter on B&W film.

There are those who contend that Color simply confuses, or alters, the creation and composition of images. They have a right to that idiotic opinion, just as those who will only see beauty in Color and not B&W.

Reviewing these images again, I find them incredibly good, but I could take them in color as well.

Such is my duality, and my broader image of the world in general.

Here is a good friend, I often work with, and this will feed those appetites for color. Both work.

This for the Single Minded.

The other photographer, whom I quoted, shoots both (obviously out of ignorance as someone posted)

I like these but would much prefer them in colour. Number 2 in particular loses so much in B&W.

B&W can be taken whenever you wish. Excellent job in your photography.

Nice photos. I always shoot my b&w in that mode. I never convert color to b&w. Thanks for sharing

Recently took a trip that included Dallas Divide, Cimarron Mountains, Red Mountain pass.

No, it at least can hold its own. It is just as spectacular as color shots, but it has its very own charm/brilliance!

I agree with this statement. Fall should always be in color but these are very dramatic.

These are not standard by any means. I think they are excellent. You may not want to describe them as fall shots but, the drama that you put in these is really good.

I totally disagree with these guys. How on Earth can one tell what season these are in? The majesty and exuberance of of fall is totally missing. Just because you can photograph an old barn in B&W doesn't mean you should. I have been in Colorado in the fall and it is absolutely magnificent because of all the color!

Probably because I have more familiarity with Colorado, I know that green aspen leaves cannot be zone 8 or 9, that one can only achieve that in autumn in b&w. I shot several hundred magnificent color shots as I had clearing storms, dramatic light, and of that several hundred, there are about 25 that are wall hangers. Last year, I was able to spend 3 days out and about after a heavy autumn snow at the peak of the colors (many thought the best colors in a couple of decades and I would agree) so I have no shortage of jaw dropping Colorado autumn shots as well as many shots in winter. Actually, I think it a unique challenge to make a fine b&w in autumn! Thanks for looking though! Wayne

I surely did not mean to make such a mess of things. I made a very recent post where all sorts of people (including my family) think that the photo I took was really cool and unique. However, most of the people responding thought it to be rather poor all around. Oh, well. I do respect their opinions very much. I am sure there are a couple of B&W photos of yours that will knock my socks off!
