Best lab to send email photos to. I am unhappy with Walgreens. I need lab that will also do some correcting.

I can tell you who I would never use again nor would I recommend them to anyone. Printerpix. I ordered 20 prints 4x6 and 5x7's over a month ago and still have not received them. First I tried emailing them to find out when I might receive them with no response. Then I called. Mistake. I waited on hold for 30 minutes and then the lady could only tell me what I already could see on their website. I called a second time and waited on hold for 20 minutes and finally gave up cause I need to go. I will never use them again. I used them because they were running a special is the only reason I was trying them.
I have used MPIX and will go back to them. They are fast and my pictures have always looked great.
Maybe others have had a better result with Printerpix but not me!

Ref: Costco and autocorrect. You can go into your preferences and turn the autocorrect off. I calibrate my monitor regularly and had my photos done with autocorrect off; that was a big mistake on my part! My photos were consistently dark and flat. I turned the autocorrect back on and it has given me very good results; just like my photos on my monitor.

Ah-ha! There it is. Mine is on OFF.

Dozens of good pro labs are still in business. Search for "professional photo lab" and pick one near you.

Most pro labs will work with you to achieve WYSIWWP (What You See Is What We Print) color, but ONLY if you have a decent monitor that is properly calibrated and profiled on a regular basis, and you adjust your own images.

Check out color management tools for monitor calibration and profiling. X-Rite and DataColor are the popular providers.

Some pro labs will go a step further and adjust images for you, but you are going to pay a premium for that service, and you are also going to be at the mercy of their color corrector.

If you understand how to achieve PERFECT white balance in a JPEG, by doing a custom white balance at the camera from a neutral target, it's generally a lot easier (even when working from raw files).

Step one is establishing a reference point with accurate exposure and white balance...

Step two is having that calibrated and profiled monitor.

Step three is using the lab's PRINTER profile as your PROOFING or VIEWING profile (in your software). This is just as true when printing to an inkjet printer. Better labs will let you download these from their websites. They may also provide a reference test file, and a print of that file, so you can verify that your monitor is properly calibrated and profiled.

I have used Simply Color Lab in Akron, OH. They have done well.
I have used Adoramapix. Their work was also first rate.
I have used Costco. The will not do correcting, but otherwise do a good job.

You had me curious so I went and uploaded a new picture and then looked at all the settings, even pretending that I wanted to order a print. No autocorrect anywhere.

Sounds like you are sending files directly from your computer. I'm doing it in the store using a Costco computer. There's a default "autocorrect" at the end of the file loading procedure. I aways uncheck it. Have never tried it in the autocorrect mode. I've never tried sending a file to Costco over the internet. I just go to the store, download the files, then shop around while the prints are being made. Maybe have an ice cream cone while waiting. :-D

I do a minimum of 370 prints at a time. They won't/can't do that many while I shop around.

The best they can do for me with that many prints is at 2:00 p.m. if I get the order to them by 10:00 a.m.

I use Costco also, am usually pleased with the result considering the prices. I'm curious, do you check the autocorrect option, or leave it unchecked?

Sorry about empty post. I fat fingered and hit send by mistake.

I print all my photos at Costco and I turn auto correct off. The autocorrect program can get fooled with unusual images. For example, when they autocorrected images of the vivid Red Rocks around Sedona AZ the prints came out with brownish rocks (a more common rock color).
