I currently use Win 7 on a desktop, 8.1 on my Surface Pro and Win 10 on a backup Desktop (for testing purposes).
My only concern with Win 10 is the amount of "information" Microsoft collects about your computer usage with Win 10. Especially if you use Cortina. Remember since it's "free" your are the product. You can shut off most of the sharing options in the control panel. It also analyzes your usage to target ads. Another issue is automatic updates, I usually wait several days and monitor the blogs sites to ensure that a recent updates don't cause damage, since I use my computers for business and can't afford much down time (everything is backed up and or cloned but that's not the point). Though it's slower I prefer FireFox to Edge.
Having said all of that - I do like it's speed and layout.

From what I've read on this site about Windows 10, I don't plan on changing from Windows 7. It works just fine for me. Don't want to take a chance and not be able to use printers (as mentioned in another posting), etc.

As the saying goes, "Nothing is ever free."

After reading the results some of this forum were having, I decided to buy a new laptop with windows 10 instead of downloading....and for me I DO NOT LIKE IT!, I have never had any problems with window 8.1 I know there are lots of people who did not like 8.1 so its like everything some do and some don't, but I think windows 10 is very over rates!

I understand that in a few months you're going to have to upgrade or else. But don't ask me what the 'or else' is.

Someone mentioned something about Edge on Win 10. That was the only problem I had on moving to Win 10 on a high end computer. I upgraded within a month of the initial download availability and just recently my Edge wouldn't load. I did figure out how to off load the program and reload it, now it works fine. I think it may have had a conflict with something I loaded earlier but I can't figure out what it was. Personally I think edge is great and will not go back to Chrome. It's much faster and from what I read it's a lot safer to use.

Just an FYI for everyone, you do not have to use EDGE as your browser. Internet Explorer is still there to use and can be set as the default. No need to discuss the other browsers available.

Other than some issues with Windows updates, I don't find anything wrong with Windows 7 and I am sticking with it.

I found out this morning that not all Windows 7 computers can be upgraded to Windows 10. I started to download and got this message: "Unfortunately, this computer is unable to run Windows 10". Compatibility Issue - The BIOS is not supported. I have a Dell N5110 laptop.

However, I have successfully downloaded Windows 10 on another laptop and it works fine .... so far. But if your computer works fine with Windows 7, why change ?

Three or four times got a message that told me it couldn't be loaded because of an error. I kept going for it and it finally went through.

I seem to remember it was a day after some kind of update popped up on my computer.

Except for the occasionally slow or seemingly lock up, it is not really that bad. My thoughts are that you should keep trying.

This sounds like the Marmite issue - you either love it or hate it!

A question for my UH friends that have upgraded to windows 10 - how have you found using it over past few weeks. currently on 7 and considering it

Works fine for me no problems of any kind, if it dont work for 30 days you can revert to your old windows, with all your current programs intact very simple to do, nothing to lose with this upgrade.
