My advice is a resounding "no". A friend of mine who knows nothing about IT did so because she kept getting message saying that the free upgrade was avalable and then found out that neither of her two Canon printers would work. Her IT expert charged her to "downgrade" to Windows 7 again and advised her to wait a minimum of six months before Windows 10 might start to work properly. Me? While Windows 7 continues to work I'll stick with it.

Canon confirmed to me that none of my three printers (one a laser printer) were compatible with Windows 10.

I had no problems with upgrading to 10 and love it. Had to down load drivers for my HP Printer and that was it. Have my 3 computers all on 10 and the wife bought herself a new laptop with 8.1 and upgraded right away.

Absolutely, upgraded from Win 8 ... solved all the minor problems and am now a happy Win 10 user ... HP color and Samsung laser printers; Canon cameras; flatbed scanner; NEAT; Smart TVs; Labelwriter; Adobe CC; MS Office; StatTrak Address Manager; two Kindles; two laptops; et al ...

I upgraded my laptop immediately W10 became available after three weeks I returned to W8.1. The mail app constantly crashed, the most annoying thing was that after waking from its sleep the network disconnected and it took many attempts to reconnect. Some apps refused to work and Edge is a pile of rubbush bloated with ads. On resuming to 8.1, I am a happy chappie again!

Many of my 3rd party program's needed to be reloaded to work. (What a pita!) Especially the ones that needed a password. Since that time they all worked fine. Maybe a reinstalled printer would help.

Win 10 is cleaner and "neater". (Except the off button.)

The only thing I hate about it is the occasional delay or worse, to get some of the normal things to work.

For example, things like turning off my computer. Sure it takes one more click, but sometimes the "power" button doesn't even show up!!!

I've found it doesn't show up when I'm using something else alot then don't use it for a minute or so.

Something like when I'm involved in something and my wife says "We have to go right now!"

Most of the time it shows up as it should. There are sometimes when the power button does not show up. I'm waiting for it to show up and it doesn't. Then I click the 1st button several times and still nothing. Then I end up pulling the plug in frustration.

This doesn't happen all the time but is something they should fix! I've filled out the "feedback" form more than once but heard nothing about it.

To be honest, it hasn't happened in about a week. Maybe they fixed it.

I went from 7 to 10 on my laptop and it has been 1 month. I have found little to be upset about. All of my programs run for post processing and my browsers are also running good. For me, it is working.

Isn't that a Canon problem? It's not like they didn't know Win10 was coming.

My Canon iP4500 works from my older computer running Windows 10, but this one has Win8.1.

I just completed the upgrade to 10 on 3 different machines (one extremely large one with a large graphics processor) and all went well. There was a 20 hour down time on the large machine as Windows 10 went through the installation or whatever process and it would have been nice if it had put up a screen saying it was doing something instead of just a black screen that looked like the black screen of death. after 20 hours the machine rebooted and everything works with one exception. Windows Edge (which has Adobe flash player built in and, yes I have it turned on, does not work and everything that is flash enabled tells me to download flash. My Safari and Firefox downloaded the Macromedia Adobe Flash player and work fine so it is only a minor issue but one that Microsoft needs to address as the Windows 10 bulletin boards are full of complaints about it. Other than that, everything works well and faster. Windows 10 seems more robust and stable than Windows 7 on all of my machines. Also, minor lockups that required reboots in Windows 7 seem to have gone away in Windows 10 and the machine has been running constantly for 2 weeks without interruption. Printer drivers, Microsoft Office 2007, older versions of Macromedia Dreamweaver, and older games like Civilization 4 and Railroad Tycoon all run without issues (Railroad Tycoon had to be setup in Windows Vista compatibility mode which was just a right click on the setup and had to be installed It wouldn't run in Windows 7 at all and I had to use it on an old laptop running Vista.)
As a warning: This was the 3rd time I installed Windows 10 on my big machine but it was my fault and now Windows (as much as that gripes me to say because of the love / hate relationship with Microsoft) The first 2 times, it went into the install and got to the previously mentioned black screen and I decided after 5 or 6 hours that it locked up and rebooted. Windows 10 then reloaded Windows 7 and everything was back to normal.. The second time, I did the install and it got to the black screen and I waited 10 - 12 hours and panicked and rebooted back to Windows 7. The third time I let it do it's thing and found other things to do while it was grinding. Sure enough, 20 or so hours later, it came up in Windows 10. I will say, make sure you do good and complete backups before you start. And if you have multiple drives, like my big machine, (it has 8 internal drives which, other than the C drive are all 4 tb or larger), you might want to disconnect the extra drives until after the installation as this "MAY" shorten the black screen time. Also, before I did anything, and after I completed everything, I ran Belarc Advisor (a free application http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html ) which not only tells you everything about what is in your computer, but also gives you all of your license keys for all of your software. So, if you have to reinstall anything, you have a copy of all your keys. I keep a pdf copy on a cd for each of my machines, a printout for each machine in my files and a second pdf for each machine in my safe deposit box for emergencies. And yes, I have reinstalled everything from the license keys to verify that they work, including Windows 7. I haven't tested the Windows 10 key but I assume that it works because everything in the previous versions has. I have used Belarc since 1999 or 2000 and have used it in both professional environments ( As a senior systems engineer for a large insurance company) and private environment (I put it on all of my machines and also any friend and /or customer's machines that I maintain)..

I've been using Windows 10 for a couple of months now - and found that it works flawlessly. OK, a couple of drivers needed updating, but that's no biggie. Overall, it's much smoother than Win 8.1, and it deleted the".old" files without batting an eyelid. Doing you updates the old way is now a thing of the past as it's all automatic.
Don't worry about the "off" button. The thing to do is, as I have done, is to place a couple of shortcuts on the desktop - one for "shutdown PC" and the other "restart PC". They work a treat.
Would I go back to Win 8.1 or Win 7 - no way!
PS if anyone wants to know how to set up the aforementioned shortcuts, just let me know.

I have it on two computers and a Windows Tablet and have had no problems. The easiest installs I have ever done. My Canon Ink Jet Printer and Samsung Laser printer worked fine right off the bat. Never had to install any drivers.

Win 10 works well for me, better than 8 & 8.1, as easily as WIN7 and probably safer, only problem I've had was to upgrade some drivers from 7 to 8/8.1 after I upgraded to Win 10, Bob.
