Sure wish I could have gotten a good picture of the train running eastbound but it just didn't work out for me. Still, we had a lot of fun listening for the thunder on the tracks and the whistle. But, because of the curve at each end of the tracks, the trains could sneak up on you mighty fast--as you can see on the ONLY eastbound train that I did capture.

Tejaswrangler, glad you enjoyed dropping in to view! Later in the trip we had another opportunity to photograph a train near Jasper and the tracks were covered in yellow flowers. I'll be posting those pictures soon--hope you check back and get a look at them.

Very good set Dmeyer.
Glad to have you follow the trip ebbote--I'll have some really pretty train/train tracks pictures coming soon from outside Jasper. Morant's Curve was good practice for us at the start of the trip, though. As you could see in the final image, if the train catches you unprepared with the proper camera settings, you're sunk. :|
Very scenic and what's not to love about a nice train!

Well, if you enjoy trains, keep a lookout for another train post that I'll do withinin a few days! It was actually a much prettier setting (at least I thought so). Glad to have you follow my trip, Matt.

I actually like the Eastbound that has some blur to it. Love all the trains. Bet you had a great time photographing them.
These are great. Really nice set.

Thank you rlaugh--I hope I someday achieve your level of skill and talent. Your collection for the county fair was outstanding!

The eastbound was a "get out of the car fast and grab it" shot. Wish I knew how to execute a blurred shot on purpose--that would be cool. And yes, we really did have a lot of fun anticipating the arrival of the trains!
