I also had a very pleasant experience. My only issue is that all my pages in various software like Word and Excel are now white. I wanted to change the color, but have as of yet been unable to. Anyone have that issue??

Is freaking AWESOME, Downloaded it last night, about 3 hours to download and install, I don't have high speed internet, my first thought was if it's this slow, I not sure I want it, but let me tell you it's like driving a Ferrari, Smooth, Slick and Fast.

Windows have a little different appearance even running programs like photo editors and things, but it's all good.

viewing your photo is really cool and has a neat little photo editor for minor fixes, it's cool to.

had no problems what so ever missing anything, the only hiccup was photos did not recognize PSD files so I ask Cortana about it, had to do a fix on windows live essentials Not uninstall but repair and it fix that.

it beats windows 7 and 8 hands down, I love it :-P :-P :-P

Now long did it take between the time of placing the request and notification that the down load was ready?

Thanks for the comments. I'd like to add my opinion that even DOS 5 beats Windows 8.

Just installed it also. Everything went flawless, except for one minor glitch. When I started, I had two working monitors. After install I had one, and the display settings screen refused to recognize the 2nd display. So I looked for Control Panel, and of course couldn't find it. After finding it, found Device Manager and was able to correct the problem. Seems like everything is working. All my icons are in place. Everything now seems to be working.

Before starting, I cloned my SSD that I boot from, just in case. Used Acronis True Image 2015. It makes an absolute image copy of the SSD which I stored on another small hard drive. If anything were to go wrong, I could immediately restore that image.

I am making the image of my 2nd PC right now, but haven't got the update invite for that PC yet.

This exact multiple machine installation is why it's recommended to put the "INSTALLATION ROUTINE" on a flash drive so it can be utilized multiple times by just opening the specific routine (either 64 bit X64 or 32 bit X86) version.

Does upgrading to Win 10 involve re-installing all the programs that run on it? :?:

The installation is not just a download per se, since there's numerous checks and compatibility tests run as well as transfer of all your old programs, files, folders and settings. You also might need to go to your video card manufacturer's website and get updated drivers from them after the installation has completed.

Over all, the total time to install is somewhere between 2 to 4 hours depending on your internet service provider speed and the clock speed of your particular computer in processing files transfers and operations.

Your programs, settings files and folders are all transferred automatically if you choose the full blown automated installation. All of your desktop ICONS and peripherals drivers are also transferred automatically. This upgrade only effects the OS partition but you will need room on the disk for a temp swap file and full backup restore point to be generated. However if you do a full backup of your system on an external drive, you can then delete your old restore files on the main HDD or SSD to make room. The installation automatically generates a new restore point for your old system.

Just for the record, I was on a 7 machine which starting sinking. Went and got a new machine 8.1 was real upset with it, but sat down and figured it out slowly. I just wish this Windows 10 was on it. It is running just fine.

Was a snap to get up and going. No problems at all.

If you download the WIN10 INSTALLATION ROUTINE on a flash drive, you can use it to install WIN10 on all of your computers as long as they have legitimately purchased WIN7 or WIN8 operating systems on them now. Just plug in the flash drive with the installation routine on it and run the program for upgrade. Everything after that is pretty much automatic. You might need the original KEY CODE NUMBERS though so be sure to copy then down or get them off of the MICROSOFT WINDOWS LABEL that's supposed to be attached to the back or bottom of the computer.

I downloaded and installed 10 on both my PC and laptop
yesterday, it went off without a flaw. Both are working great and haven't had a single problem.

No, it does not require you to re-install anything, it just
writes over Windows 7 or 8 and leaves everything intact.

I downloaded Win 10 on my laptop but now the desktop keeps flashing and "refreshing" all the time. I downloaded the latest video driver. Considering taking it back to Win 7. Anyone had similar experience?

OK, Windows 10 is pretty and different. I have not had one issue with Windows 7 in the several years I have used it. I am hearing how much better Windows 10 is than Windows 7. So what is Windows 10 going to bring to the table that Windows 7 does not already do perfectly and I need? I run Windows 7 from a 256GB SSD, it is lightning fast and rock stable. Other than the start menu issue, I fixed with 3rd part software, Windows 8.1 did not run badly for me either.

My main concern is will all my programs and device work correctly.

W10 was designed to permit existing software to run correctly. A few drivers, usually for your video card may need to be updated.

If you have the W10 icon in your system tray, click on it. A window will open that describes the advances in W10. There is also a link to click to see if your pc will work and what (if any) programs are not compatible.

There is NO commitment to do the upgrade or even the download at that point.

Windows 10 installed with no problems and seems to run very fast. The only thing I have seen so far is the failure of Edge to open some links sent in emails. This may not be an Edge problem but possible a bad link. I have not been able to sort this one out yet.

Bottom line, I am pleased so far with the upgrade and it is very easy to transition to. I was running 8.1 before with Classic Shell installed. With Classic Shell I opened Windows in Windows 7 mode and it worked great. Start Button etc. all there with CS.
