Pat, I got myself a waterproof camera to use in Hawaii next week. Planning to do a little snorkeling, and didn't want to leave my camera behind. Bought the Fuji XP 80 just for the fun of it. I'll let you see some next week maybe, if I get anything good enough.

In mean time here are a few archived bugs.

I got the XP60 several years ago to take to Thailand. Pretty good travel camera.

My wife passed 26 days ago. I went out birding and trying to ease my pain. As I was shooting this waterfall, this beautiful butterfly came in and landed on my ring finger. I honestly feel it was my wife coming back to me. She loved butterflies. I couldn't tell ya the last time I had a butterfly land on me, let alone land on my ring finger... God works in mysterious ways..

Exactly! :-)

It sure is good for my 59.5 year old reflexes to try to capture a mini-bumblebee in flight, or a tiny moth. I could have so much fun with a macro lens! When I see all the awesome shots, it makes me not want to post. But, that's why we call it a challenge, right?

Wow! I love those bees! Beautiful! Here are a couple of caterpillars, and a crystallis. (Not sure I spelled it correctly.)

I have used a really cheap Tamron 70-300 macro for about 8 years, it is the one I have taken virtually all of my butterfly and close ups with. It is wearing out now, I am going to have to replace soon. But for the money, it has been great! But I have also spent a great deal of time, as we all do, outside stalking nature. One of my favorite things to do. Way better than chores.

I certainly second that motion!!

Mornin y'all... :) Kind of a funny story about this bee pic.
It was storming yesterday and the rain was coming in the window near the computers, so I went to close the windows and found this bee dead on the window sill. Naturally I had to grab a tissue and pick it up and then photograph it lol. I sat it on a small piece of white paper, put the extension tubes on the camera to get closer ... and as I had it in my sights focusing... the wind blew in and moved it. Omg, I screamed and nearly jumped out of my skin .. even though I knew it was dead ... it scared the hell outta me hahahhahah.
