If you get lucky a fisheye wedding shot could be the star of the show! But it could also strike out easily, like Babe Ruth.

My step daughter has asked me to shoot her wedding. I'm renting a package from Borrow Lenses that has a 16 mm. F1.4 fisheye lense in it . I would like to take a fisheye shot from above the wedding because I have never seen a shot like this for a wedding. My question is how high do you think I need to get the lense and any recommendations for a tripod to hold a D80 and the lense. The wedding will be small around 80 - 100 people including the wedding party.

Is this a French or German "lense" (lens)? Are you talking about a "film" or Full Frame digital camera 16mm fisheye shot? 16mm is not even extremely wide on a APS-C Cropped Factor camera, just wide.

A wedding fisheye shot would be different, but there may be a reason for that. You might just ask a Pro Wedding photographer (hopefully one will give you advice here).

You might find some good ideas in this video produced by B&H Photo Event Space and given by the master of the fisheye for weddings Gene Ho.

Indeed he is and and wonderful person as well. He still keeps an eye out for comments on the video and frequently responds. Glad you liked it.

Good idea, read this and think about the impact on the wedding!

NEW YORK (AP) — Enrique Iglesias was recovering Sunday after some of his fingers were sliced when he grabbed a drone during a concert in Tijuana, Mexico.

A representative for the singer said in a statement to The Associated Press that Iglesias was "semi-treated" after the accident at the side of the stage to stop the bleeding on Saturday night. He was advised to end the show but went on to perform for an additional 30 minutes.

"During the show a drone is used to get crowd shots and some nights Enrique grabs the drone to give the audience a Point of View shot. Something went wrong and he had an accident," the statement read. "He decided to go on and continued playing for 30 minutes while the bleeding continued throughout the show."

Concertgoers at Plaza de Toros de Playas posted photos on social media of Iglesias, 40, with blood all over his white T-shirt.

"He was rushed to the airport where an ambulance met him there. He was then put on a plane to L.A. to see a specialist," the statement read.

Iglesias' show for 12,000 fans is part of his Sex and Love World Tour. His website says his next show is in July in Mexico City.

Fisheyes are great things, but do take some practice. If you think you like that sort of stuff you could just consider buying one outright, the Samyang (Rokinon et al) is very well reviewed and relatively inexpensive (<$300, I got a new Vivitar brand one for $165) and I use it much more than I thought I would, although I also have a 10-22mm rectilinear lens.

As others have said, if you are on a DX Nikon, 16mm is not very wide at all, essentially a 24mm in classic 35mm camera terms. Wide, but not ultra wide, and not really a fisheye on a DX body.

Good luck!

Hey Peterff I am getting a 10.5 mm fisheye for my D80 thanks for your advice. I'm not going to put a D810 or 750 that I don't own up in the air. Any more tips would greatly appreciated .

I have the Nikon 16mm fisheye and on a full frame camera, it is a great lens. Gives that unique perspective and if done right, that special photo of the day.
