Yes, I saw that last night. Comcast gave up, so now we have another buyer. You know what that means: worse service and higher profits.
Hi Jerry,
using your link shows 95.36 fast & slow
Whereas Ookla shows 99.6 download and 5.96 upload speeds.
That's with Virgin Media fibre optic cable
we in the US pay the most for less. I'm paying for 25 Mbps and getting a max of 18. In Europe they have the fastest speeds and pay a fraction of what US customers pay. It's the same thing with pharmaceuticals.
I have Charter Spectrum, which they just rolled out last year as the entry level internet option. Last August before Spectrum we had internet speeds of 30Mbps now that Spectrum upgrades are done Charter advertises 60Mbps for $29/month, I did this test twice and got the following speeds 62.97 and 64.90 -- Jerry - I see you are with Time Warner if the merger with Charter goes through you should be getting this soon.

I have used my current Broadband for years . Most of the time a very reliable service. Here are my results using your test and Speedtest.net.
Yes, these speeds look wonderful. But listed below is a link that gives you a more accurate speed under realtime downloading and uploading of files.
http://speedof.me/My test showed 89 Mbps download and 24.85 upload. Still plenty fast enough for me.

Jerry I have been with Charter for years and I've never had a problem dealing with them, now I'm sure others have, but I can honestly say that I have never had better service from any type of utility type company. If I call in a connection or speed problem I usually get service by the next morning and many times it has been that same day. Very seldom have to wait much more than a minute or two on hold. I just can't find anything to complain about. I hope you find it to be the same.

I saw that same article &'tested mine this AM. I had a high of 27.x and a low of 17.x (Optimum) I'm not thrilled with Cablevision, but my numbers didn't seem that bad.
Seems like our friends across the pond have naturally occurring higher speeds, although some of us on this side of the pond have some higher speeds than you or I.
