My latest flea market find. I just want to share this beautiful 1898 Bulls-Eye Kodak Special which in my opinion is one of the nicest example of historic cameras. The bonus on this is not only the condition, but the low production #54. One of a kind.
Have you done a search to determine when this camera was manufactured?
Isn't it a shame to cover up that beautiful cherry wood with leather? I have a Number One Bullseye I bought 20 odd years ago. I found out Kodak used cherry wood for all these. Try to buy that wood today and then fit and sand and finish.....you've got to admire what they made.
Very nice, and it would make a great prop for portraits.

I saw some had sold on ebay in the $20 to $40 range, but, they all looked to be in pretty bad shape. I would think yours would fetch substantially more.
Wish the flea markets around here had such nicely preserved cameras....Beautiful shape it's in...
A really nice piece. Something to hold on to.
Now, if you could only find the steam powered motor drive to go with it. lol
What a sweet deal you got!! A great example of turn of late 19th, early 20th century craftsmanship. The use of precisely fitted wooden parts makes this a pleasure to see. Great find!!
You got a great deal. Wonderful to see the camera! Thanks
Congratulations Mike on a great find

Thank you very much, I think it would be harder to find a cleaner one, maybe at the Kodak museum in Rochester.
Blacks, what's interesting is that it has somebody's name inside it!
Might be entertaining to look them up on ancestry.com and see if your camera has any history. Could add a lot to the value, or nothing!!
Maybe you can get a hold of a pic that has him in it with the camera!
Maybe he shot for Nat Geo!!!!
Maybe Ansel Adams took his first pic with that camera!
Just saying.
