Thank you, EW, for sharing this...I especially appreciate it because I wondered if almost everyone on this site was narrow minded. You proved that there are plenty who are not. I really would like to see this photo completed, too! Technique is so important...in all facets of photography, not just the camera. Thank you so much!!!!

You so very right about the photographic skill here! So often general people just don't seem to get that it is much more than taking nice little snaps........

NPR = National Public Radio, hated by everyone who is hardcore republican or whatever. Too... 'liberal'

I do not see how his Adam apple was removed other than PP but again good photography.

Thanks Wolf. I got an awful lot to learn. With all you folks I may come out a little bit smart! At least, smaller on the "what is...." area!

I think the photographic skills are interesting.

Not sure why some of us had to comment about one's sexuality and the related political nonsense.

I would appreciate, for the future, that we all concentrate about photography and try to improve our skills in that field.

I, for one, do not care about your political affiliation and do not need any lecturing about such subject.

I see even more importance in the way he was shown first...he looks more masculine in this one, don't you think. Even without an adam's apple. And...did you see an adam's apple? Maybe he doesn't really have one?

thanks, EW!

I don't know, the more I look at the second one the more I wonder if I would have thought about him being a man if we hadn't talked about it. He sort of has the Jackie Onasis look about him.

If you pay attention you realize that the photographer and the crew around him made sure that any aspect of him as a man was hidden using posing and only posing.

A such, it is a lesson to be learned.

Would I see this 'woman' in the street, I would go "Wow!'

After looking at this picture, I now see what English Wolf was trying to teach us.
How a model can be posed, the arm and hand across the neck, the hair blowing in the wind, the make up. The sexless photo or rather how one sees the the photo and out take on the models sex.
I did learn something today and I'm sorry for the fast jab.
Thank you.

I understand your frustration, I to wish that the members would stick to photographic topics.

This thread sadly confirms my opinion... Most UHH members cannot stick to photography and can only add their personal slant on everything.

No wonder I appear rude and undiplomatic. I 'show', 'speak about' photography, I get... I don't even know what.

He does look more masculine because we expect it and are looking for signs that makes him a man. I believe that this search for 'fault' is a natural way to try to reinstate order in our perception.

As to the PP, I think I see some of it in the veil going toward his Adam apple. everywhere but in that area, the veil limits and folds are well define by a white band but not there. Since there is a missing part/fold, I assume (perhaps wrongly) that is where the PP 'surgery' took place.
Another location where something is not quite right is under the chin.

I find the neck slant and the shoulder unnatural, Either due to posing or PP (or both).

Your opinions?

This whole argument suddenly reminded me of a bachelor party for my best friend (about 100 years ago). We went into the city and at one point were in a bar with boys dressed as girls. I didn't realize it until later! Now we have men posing as female models. If they can make money doing that, let them. They're simply using their talent; another form of acting. But can't we stick to photography?

It looks like the neck in the back is too thick going into the shoulder area. I only say this because you pointed out that particular area, otherwise I would not have noticed. Great makeup artist and photographer. I wonder if he works with one certain photographer or does many different shoots, I would guess the later but would be nice to know......

Had I not followed this I would have just looked at the photo EW put up and think 'blonde model' then moved on. Now I'll be looking at photos of 'women' in magazines and wondering. The second photo I would have looked at thinking the eyebrows needed tweezing. I will be interested in looking at the link EW posted on posing as this is one of my problems. That having been said, I saw an interview with Brazil's top 'female' model who happens to be male and the son of one of that country's soccer hero's. He/she was planning the final surgery for total transformation. ouch!
