I was out shooting late today - looking for Otter tracks - and came across this guy ! - Been shooting (wildlife) about 4 years now and this was my first opportunity for a YCNH.
It was 6 PM + and the light LOW so I grabbed the Sony A3000 and Canon 300 2.8 on my steel monopod.
ISO 400, 1/500, f4, 2X CIZ ( effective 600mm) .....shot as JPEG with my standard PP in Elements 9.
Whow...! Great Image..! You never know what you may run into while out there. Never heard of or seen this bird...Thanks for sharing..!!

gorgeous shot! I see you're from Stuart, where I went to high school. Did you take the photo in that area?
You did a great job here, Larry!

Regis, appreciate your visit and nice comment ! I think the eyes are better to see their prey in low light .......
Wow Great shot, so much better than mine, I was just so excited about even seeing one, I did not and could not spend much time on it. Here is mine, but yours is so much better, great shot. From what I have read they are not easy to get. My data was: D7100 18-300MM @300 f8 1/800 ISO-400 as you can see I had much better light but just could not get the balance you got therefor the clarity.
