BTW Many states require you to pay state income tax from items bought out of state that did not charge the tax. But almost no-one does.

Boberic, I can attest that WI is VERY serious about sales tax collection, whether vendors collect the tax or not. Have calculated and paid every year since moving here. /Ralph

I have an opportunity to buy a Sony a6000 mirrorless camera with 2 lenses from a big box store requiring membership (begins with C...ends in O) for about $650. My question - has anyone had any experience buying camera equipment from C...O? I am sure I can return everything to the store if there is an issue but I wonder if these stores carry genuine equipment???? Just wanting some advice.

C_____O is absolutely the best to buy from. As others have said, their return policy is without peer including S___m's C__b. With electronics which includes cameras, you have 90 days to return if you're unhappy w/your purchase, no questions asked. They sell $100K diamond rings and top notch brands of watches. The only drawback is that their selection isn't as grand as a camera store or a big box like Best Buy. If I found a camera, I would not hesitate buying from C____O.

I have bought a two cameras there. We did not like the first, so exchanged it (without any problem) for the second. The real difference between the original manufacturer's versions and the versions they sell is that the ones they sell have some feature not found on the standard version, so the model number is slightly different. But I'm pretty sure they are still manufactured by the original manufacturer. At least, all the literature is there.

Costco was selling Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZX19 -- compared to the ZX20.

ZX19 did not have GPS, available only in black, 4 grams lighter, and extra internal memory image storage which was 77MB compared to 12MB. And price was $50 cheaper.

I got these specs at:

Given that this store also has an s in the middle of it's name you can rest easy. Their return policy is absolutely stellar and second to none weeks or even months after the purchase. They can also recreate and reprint your original invoice if you happen to have lost it and need one for a manufacturer's warranty claim.
Use them without any anxiety. They are great people.

Well said...you're probably getting the one I returned. Nothing wrong with it, but touch screen is missing...

And shooting pictures at the wrong place in the wrong light and.....oh what?

There really are not any bad cameras on the market anymore. Pay around $100 and you have a remarkable machine. Read the manual and you find it does almost what your dslr does.

I bought mine from Costco and received last Friday. This is the second camera I have bought from them. Their return policy is 90 days with full refund on electronics. Plus you get 2 years warranty. They throw in the extra year for free.

I joined Costco for a year but never bought much there...I always found the same items cheaper elsewhere. They have a variety of types of items: cameras, computers, vacuum cleaners, etc. but not much to choose from within any type and forget finding a sales person who knows much about the product. At Costco, the check out lines were always long. The last time I was there there was one checker working and the guy in front of me was buying about $800 of food for a day care including 26 gallons of milk, at least one of which was leaking all over the floor. That was it for me at Costco....I put down the one item I was going to buy and never looked back. Think about it, you have to pay extra to buy from a place where there's little service and other stores sell cheaper?? As for cameras....B&H and Adorama in NYC are the best I've found along with used camera broker KEH in Atlanta.
Don't waste your time with the amateurs....

Do you know that cosco doesent make any money on food it's a brake even on that end . There money is made in people buying member ships , and renewing them each year . So there selling the products they get to you
Whole sale . Same as what they pay. And they have millions of member out there renewing there member ship every day ever day . And there stock is on
The recommended to buy list . Don't beleiive me look it up
