You had to be a good distance away !! That SX 50 does a very good job of getting a clear shot. A very worthwhile investment considering most birders are using a $1000-$2000 lenses, and that doesn't include the camera.

Thank you for sharing, but don't get close to ospery when they have young. They will attack in a heartbeat !!!!!

Thanks so much for your nice comments, Denny!

I learned very early that ospreys (and hawks!) give you a warning and I do try to respect wildlife and not intrude. The bald eagles I shoot are even further away than these birds :)

I have an SLR for my landscapes and other subjects, but am so thankful there is an affordable, lightweight alternative for distant wildlife pics, as you mention.

Very nice Linda! Love the photo-bomb shot... My favorite is the last one. Nice portrait of the chic and nice of it to pose for you like that.

I kept the osprey shots a bit dark 'cause I like the clouds :)

Can't believe the water tower redtail hawks had triplets for the second year in a row!

Canon SX50. Thanks for much for viewing.

Nice shots...

Mike, when I read the other day that Sharon from CDA spent 7 hours at an eagle's nest, I was astonished! I can maybe last an hour at mine, and certainly not every time I visit. Most of my wildlife action shots are result of short but frequent visits: right place, right time, luck :)

Thanks so much for your comments; very pleased you enjoyed.

Great series Linda, got to get over your way as I see some great shots over there. Maybe in a month or so. That's a great camera your using, make me wonder sometimes why I carry such a heavy outfit.

Thanks so much, B. They are cuties and I bet they've grown a lot just since those shots were taken less than 2 weeks ago. Gotta get back over before they fly the coop :)

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. The bridge cameras are a terrific alternative to expensive and heavy - when that's not your thing :)
