I know I will. I have an L830 and while I do enjoy not having to lug around my t1I, I miss not having a fully functional lens filter such as a Polaroid. Any filters need to screw onto the end of the lens without interfering with the action of the telephoto.

I am a senior citizen farmer. I have many cameras within reach most of the time. I am a picture taker, but not a photographer. I read posts from people who probably know much more than me about cameras. I have looked at the P900, but notice no hood available for it. Some time ago, someone asked about a filter for a camera and someone replied the best filter is a hood. Last summer we took a Canadian Rockies bus tour. It was impossible to set up shots with the best lighting. At times, I shot nearly directly into the sun, but with the hood, I got acceptable shots.
My question is if hoods are so valuable and cheap, why are they not made available for a $550 camera like the P900?
I wish I could answer that one. I was in San Francisco last year and passed one of their many Camera shops. The fellow who was there looked at the L830 hanging around my neck and told me he had a great filter for it. It was a cylinder that goes on the front of the camera with threads to install a filter at the end. I noticed a problem though. The cylinder was not large enough to give you full motion of the telephoto. If you went out on the end, your vision ended up a hole rather than a square and it was not very large. He was asking $15 for this thing. When we were back home, I went online and ordered this exact device for $10, hoping it would be more versitile than the one I saw in the shop. It wasn't. Same thing. But I can now use my Polarizer with some limitations.

Those pictures are amazing!
How is the weight and size of the P900 compared to your 70D???
It is smaller and lighter than the 70D, especially when I have the Tamron 16-300mm lens attached. The lens on the P900 makes up most of the size. The lens is f2.8-6.5 which is very good for this size zoom.

Great Thanks
I had heard it was heavier than a DSLR - so that is good to know that it is not. I don't live in a town that would have one I can look at.
Thanks again for your time -
