Hey guys, I thought it was ME that was supposed to get excited over a new lens!!

Now that's a lens. I suggest lifting weights and working out while waiting for delivery. If it's not sharp you can always use it for batting practice.

Just wondering if anyone here has used the "SigMonster" as its called. The Sigma 800mm F5.6 EX APO HSM lens. I have been reading reviews and ogling it for some time now and finally pulled the trigger on one this morning and was just looking for a little first hand info.
All the reviews I have seen compare it essentailly equally to the Nikon 600mm F4 when used at F5.6 and out. Sure hoping that is true. I should have it by the end of next week, they ship directly from Sigma, Japan this Friday.

I obviously won't be buying that lens anytime soon (even though it would be fun to own). It cost almost 60% of my gross wages I made last year!!

What? a 275.6 in minimum focusing distance? You'll NEVER be able to take good indoor low light party shots with that!...what a piece of crap!..I'm sticking with my 50mm f/1.8!
Your an Idiot!

Shouldn't that be mounted on the back of a truck like a 50 cal.?
