According to Canon Watch Canon has a refurbished 24-105 L lens for $530.00 plus sales tax, but no shipping charge. Seems like a good deal to me.
This is a must have if you can't afford a medium telephoto. If i didn't have a 24-70 2.8L II, I would have ordered this. I've never seen a price this low.
I'd jump on that! USED PRICES are 550-600.
It is listed on the Canon USA refurbished site, but is out of stock. Good luck finding it back in stock while at this price.
That is a great price, I thought I had paid a good price when I got it from Canon at a $603.00 price for the refurbished.

The 24-105 is a must have no matter WHAT other lenses you have!!!!
Especially if it's a good deal.
My 24-105 is my MOST used lens!! ;-)

It is a great deal ($538.00) on a great lens. Many photographers of all types owned this lens at one time or another. It is a great entry into "L" glass. Canon seems to have reduced prices. Must have been SS's bogus report about camera manufacturer's sales numbers.

They can post any price they want, but it doesn't mean anything when the lens is out of stock. I regularly watch the site, and they do put items on sale... even refurbs that are never in stock while the price is reduced.
Edit: just checked again on the site and it is now in stock... order while you can!

When Canon does this (usually twice a year) the prices are good, very good. As a result, the on-line store has to be watched at ALL times. I am serious about watching at all times. I was in the web site scanning several lenses when the EF 100mm f/2.8L IS MACRO became available. I was chasing that lens and hit the buy switch. After the details of the transaction I returned to the page to see the lens listed on back order. Like shooting itself, timing is everything!

The refurbished market if very fluid. Sometimes an item will be listed only on the manufacturer's site, and sometimes it will be listed all over at different prices. Then it's gone! He who hesitates is lost.

I ordered one yesterday. It is supposed to come today from Chesapeake, VA. After taxes it was $563. No delivery charge. I was unable to ordered it online, I couldn't get the website to work, so I simply called customer service. That worked. I got the hood and filter from B & H. Good deal all around.
I have that lens and like SS I value it greatly. I bought it from a third party supplier and there is no tax. I believe that you will be charged for State sales tax. Also look through their offers and see if they have an addition $100.00 off.
That lens has been a work horse for professional around the world. Many it is their only glass. I am amazed when I see images and that lens is credited.

Mine came with hood and case.
