I do not have a remote but have used my self timer...wouldn't that work? I like this challenge. A new idea for me to play with, thanks!

It could. Also you can hold down your regular shutter release ; however' you stand the chance of shaking the camera. I have a number of panoramas posted on my website, including wateralls--http://www.photosbyswede.com if you are interested in looking.

What type of polarizer specifically?

A Cicular polarizer would be ideal, it can be adjusted to achieve the results you are looking for, it would hold back the exposure about two stops, ideal in harsh light, I also like to see slight movement in waterfall pictures, as I feel it brings the scene to life, a bit like blured wheels on a fast moving racing car, hope this helps, :)

Well Sy, I like #1 just a tad better. Personal preference made me say that.
#2 looks like a great spot for a cool down picnic on a sweltering day. Hopefully the water is still running.

Here is one from today - shot around 9 AM (earliest I could get there today but plan to go back). This is a different location. I was trying to locate a fall that someone that lives in my area suggested but I couldn't find it. Give me some feedback on this one. My comment - the color of the water - I did not use a filter (other than my UV). Some contrast adjustment done.

This one is awesome love it

docrob - ha ha ha. Yep and I love the dreamy look when done correctly but I have yet to get one right. I have been practicing so I can go back to the most beautiful place in Pennsylvania - land of 25 or so waterfalls. And I need to go back to this place, retake the pictures in the correct light. Not sure when I can get that done. But will definitely post if they turn out.

might try RICKETTS GLEN for waterfalls, west of Wilkes-Barre 23 or so waterfalls 2 rivers converge, wonderful venue. Also Deleware Water Gap on the NJ Border.

Nice shooting. Somethibng you might want to try is polarizer filter and or Neutral Density filter to give you a few fstops slower shutter.
example below of 20 sec shutter speed, 6 mp Pentax, ND4 filter and polarizer

Okay, here is a slow one! Shot using a D80 with 18-200mm f/3.5, ISO 100, 1/2 sec, F/36. I took 88 shots of this and liked this one best. #2 was shot a bit faster 1/800th of a sec @ f/8.

The first one, all I can say is wow! Very nice job! Looks like I have a project to do...first off where do I find waterfalls in ND....lol

I went to another beautiful spot to hike in Lancaster County, PA yesterday. Saw a bald eagle fly over but I wasn't quick enough to capture it. Here is one photo - it isn't my favorite but some comments about my shutter speeds for the waterfall shot made me decide to post this one. I personally like the second photo better.

I like the first one, it leads my eyes to a possible story. The second one stops to soon for me. Great shots!

Question you put both filters together I always use one or the other

Hi Sy,
I like the look of your 2 photos. Keep at it and you will get used to going to the settings you want for the look you want.
Practice makes perfect, more or less.

Hal81 - So do you, many places to visit. I assume you have been to Longwood Gardens. I haven't yet but it is on my To Do list.
