The brick and mortar had nothing to do with the Amazon sales tax in Connecticut and several other states as well.

With the amount of stuff me and my G/F order we are on the winning end of the stick.

So you're living with your grandfather? :D

Yes, you do have to compare Amazon's prices with other sellers.

Funny this topic came up. We spend a lot of money with Amazon and their service is superb. That is until recently.
I am not in a hurry to receive my purchases,so I did not pay the $99 for the speedy service and movies, etc. My last few orders, while in stock, typically took a few days to even be shipped. Not a problem, but noticeable delays. Wonder if my lack of $99 has anything to do with this?? At any rate,I now buy more more from Ebay because of this.

I don't think your lack of a subscription has anything to do with it. I recently ordered a non-"Prime" item from Texas. It took almost 8 days to make it to Delaware. I find that almost anything that isn't designated "Prime" takes awhile to get here.

My girl friend. I would be living with my grand father but he ran away from home when he was 76. LOL :)

Wow Jerry, I agree, Amazon gets your items to you fast, that's why I love them and will continue to do business with them. Tomorrow I should be getting my 'Echo.' You talk to it. Like Siri but always on, it's name is 'Alexa.' You can ask it any q roaming around in your brain. I wish they'd have this for TV. Just think, you could say, 'volume lower,' 'record this show,' switch channels, etc.

Someday they will combine a TV, computer, phone and something like this Echo, all working on wifi (or something similar) and working in combination with one another using voice commands. Darn, I was born too soon...

I ordered a book from them last Thursday and they said it would be here by today. It arrived on Monday. they are fantastic at getting the product to the consumer.

I have had that happen several times. I wish they would hand everthing off to the POst Office. I hate waiting for the brown truck.

You say it took eight days, how much of that was actual shipping time? In other words, you place an order and you are notified when it actually ships. My point that the order time to shipping time has increased on my last few orders even though they are Prime items.

Again, after numerous orders, businesses have a pretty good idea how long it takes for a package to get to a particular point,it's not rocket science. If you ship something you can get a pretty good projected delivery date. So pad that date by a couple days and most of the time you will please your recipient because it came early!

Most of mine from them does come via the post office and seldom in more than two days.

I'm with you Jerry. As a long time Prime subscriber I started feeling guilty getting stuff by 2 day air that I wasn't in a hurry for. Now I have started using the "no hurry" shipping and they are giving me incentives to do it. I don't know if I'll ever use the incentives but if it keeps the price of Prime down I'll continue using slower shipping. I have more than paid my Prime just in shipping costs even though I would normally look for free shipping options. I also have Amazon Unlimited and have literally read dozens of books for free even though the choice of material isn't the best seller list.

LOL, after seeing the echo link, I'm now on the waiting for invitation list.

BTW) DaveO, I'm very mortal human and I got the meaning of your first post on a first reading.

It was three days before it shipped and then eight to get here. I try to only buy things marked Prime and look for everything else local.
