Wished you had seen the most recent posts concerning the fabulous 1.8 50. 💚 love love it. Super sharp. Reminds me of when I shot 35mm

I have it and use it all the time on DX Nikon camera. Compact, very sharp, fast and not expensive, I wish all lenses were like that.

Do you and do most users have this lens on a D series body and not a FF body? Will it work on an FF body?

They should, the advantage of a full frame is that the motor is in the camera for a concerns. I shoot a 5300 with my nifty fifty. Very happy.

I have been recently shooting with the 50mm f1.8G on my D7100. Amazing but challenging due to it's shallow depth of field i.e f2.8 at 4' = plus of minus 1.2-1.3" if you step back to 10' it increases to plus or minus 7.6-8.7" on my camera and then I enlarge. I highly recommend getting the Simple Depth of Field App for the iPhone, others available for other phones. See shots below. I have been reading about the lens and most suggest stopping back a bit for improved sharpness and I push the ISO up. All natural light, no flash. These are jpeg's +7 sharpness picture control in camera and sharpened further in iPhoto.

Has anyone experience with this lens? It has received may glowing reports from reviewers but I tend to believe users first and people who have a financial interest last. :-D

I am not only a Nikon 50mm user, but a yellow Lab owner too.Nice looking Lab! I love my 50mm lens. I use it for portraits, small groups, etc. On my Nikon 5100 it is the equivalent of about 72mm. I have the 35mm as well for low light situations. The tamron 18-270 are the only lenses I carry. Since I'm a rank amateur I don't need much else.

It's a very good lens. Unless you need the 2/3 of a stop it's lighter and smaller than the f/1.4 and just as sharp. It's a real bargain.

Totally agree. It is a real bargain and tack sharp.
