Thanks for looking and for the thumbs up, HOT. I haven't seen this fella since, but I still have my fingers crossed that he is still around.

Thanks much, Sue. Last year I had a scarlet tanager pass through -- they are even more striking than the summer tanager. But, the scarlet doesn't hang around this area and the summer tanager does -- so I'm hoping this one wasn't just passing through.

How bright and bold is this!!! What a stunning little guy, I'm loving his color. Hopefully the Tanager girls will too. Good going, Sherry!

Thanks for your kind comment, Carlysue. Sadly, I haven't seen this guy since to took this shot -- but I haven't given up hope! I've never seen a female, but they have olive-green upperparts and orange-yellow underparts; the male and female must make an adorable couple!

Thanks, Ron. I do love the bright-colored birds and am so envious of the colorful variety you have in your neighborhood!

A beautiful sunny Easter day brought this pretty bird to visit me. My book says he eats mainly wasps and bees (hopefully carpenter bees). Oh, how I hope he stays and invites his entire extended family to live with him!

What a gorgeous shot and beautiful composition!

Thanks for looking and for your very kind comment, Corolyn. I am sad to say that I haven't seen this guy since the day I shot him nearly 2 weeks ago.
