A beautiful sunny Easter day brought this pretty bird to visit me. My book says he eats mainly wasps and bees (hopefully carpenter bees). Oh, how I hope he stays and invites his entire extended family to live with him!

Thank you, Earl. I am always pleased when pretty birds come to visit. And I am so envious of the beautiful variety you have down under!

Thanks, Erv. I am working on providing inviting habitats for my feathered friends; and I serve up a smorgasbord for them every single day. I'm doing my best to get them to stay!

Thank you, Jan. A few days ago I caught a glimpse of red that just didn't seem like a cardinal; then, yesterday, this fella came along and perched just long enough for me to snap off two quick shots. I'm hoping he gets friendlier!

And I hope he does too so you can take more beautiful shots like this one, Sherry. Absolutely beautiful and very impressive detail on the download!!! If you happen to see another, just fan him toward west Mobile in my direction. You definitely don't need two. :-D

Thank you so much, Donna. I'm hoping for a bevy of these birds. And as soon as they eliminate my carpenter bee problem, I'll send'em your way! Is there any kind of bird that eats fire ants?

I wish moles liked them. We wouldn't have a fire ant in sight. The moles thrive in winter and the fire ants in summer. What to do...

I guess with nature you have to take the bad with the good. I don't have moles, but the armadillos from the adjoining woods love to dig holes in my yard. And the list of challenges goes on . . . and on . . . and on . . . .
