Is there something about the P900 I'm missing? I understand the appeal of the massive zoom, but are there other "breakthrough" features I'm missing? Thanks.

Isn't the P900 sensor something like half the size of the D3300 sensor? I would expect it to have the same problem competing with a D3300 that a crop sensor camera has competing with a full frame camera, only more so.

It's a lot smaller than half.

Takes nice photos from far away. I have a D800 and Tamron 150-600. This camera doesn't match the IQ, but it sure is easier to carry.

How much post-processing did you do on these images?

I haven't seen any references to whether or not the P900 can be manually focused. So, can it, anyone?

Are you sure? Can you point me to the instructions that tell you how do switch to MF. I can't find a manual option regarding the focus only for A and S.

Funny you say that as no.2 is the one that shows the most break up,not just in the bacckground but also in the main subject. The other two show a little ,but very acceptable for the range. Nice shots
