Doesn't look like you need advice. They are terrific. I especially liked number 2. Would really like to know what lens and settings you used.

Thanks for the kind reply Judy. I used the relatively new Tamron set at 300mm. Camera settings for the Canon 7D were aperture priority at 6.3, 1/500 sec., ISO 640. There may be better settings, but I'm still learning and often play with settings to get an idea of what works.

Here are a few more efforts, this time with some in flight (and in line). It's overcast, and there isn't enough light to bump up the shutter speed much more to stop wing action. The originals were really dark but lightened in pp.

I'm still looking for advice.

My advice would be to frame some of these and hang them in my home!

Really great photos of beautiful birds. What a treat capturing them in flight, looking forward to photos of the "new" variety passing through.

Super set - I guess your next step is either flash or a high ISO camera body

Thank you for the kind comment Number10GI. The in flight shots are really challenging. When they hover in one spot the odds of getting a decent shot are greater of course, but they move out of position very quickly. Just when I'm about to give up I usually get lucky with one shot out of many.

I've got a flash that I need to learn to use but dream of the higher ISO camera. Thanks for looking, commenting and the thumbs up Tresed.
