Put it on the couch today, take the reaction for a couple days, and on Monday you own it.

I just bought 2 new lenses and I managed to get them into the house & hidden while my husband was visiting his sister. I put the 24-70/2.8 on my camera right away. It is a "little" bigger than the 18-140 I had on the camera but I don't think he'll actually notice. BUT, how will I explain that big 70-200/2.8 when I pull it out & put it on the camera? He WILL notice that! Birthday present? Right now, I'm trying to talk him into a trip to Ireland! Then I can justify the lenses!!?!!!?

There is a thermos that is a model of a Canon 70-200mm lens. Buy that for him and tell him you also bought a similar item for yourself

This is a very simple problem, you do the same thing all of us men have been doing for years. Figure out the dollar amount you spend on your lenses and multiply it by two now you go out and spend that much on a present ( in your case your husband) For men this problem is simple to solve because $ 3500
In camera equipment converts to a $ 7000 diamond ring. If your husband is a fisherman maybe a Bass boat . Good luck !

You must be Henpecked real men don't do this Gees.

Is that what you would do? Lol! I like it, especially adding Scotland to the mix. We're way past 2nd honeymoon...more like 5th or 6th. 14 months shy of 30 years married!

Newly weds, you'll learn :D ! After 52 +years, I've taken the easier escape when my wife--first & only--wants something that isn't truly a budget buster: "Yes Dear"; it saves the trouble following one hell of a scrap and lingering discord.

I had that problem. I cured it by getting a divorce, lol. Good luck, you sound like you have a plan.

I don't need to hide my toys from my wife any more. I just remind her of the $1400.00 she paid for that P.O.S. Louis Vuitton handbag

Where did she get one so cheap. My wife spent $2,700 for hers. But she never complains when I buy a new lens.

After his meltdown, he gives in. He would save himself all that stress if he just learned to say " Yes, dear" in the first place!

Hahaha! I'd rather have a new lens & a new camera case instead of a purse like that. At least a lens is useful!

I gave him my D5000 & put him in charge of taking pictures for certain occasions. Believe me, I would love for him to get hooked. Of course c then the lenses are only half the price because we would share them!
