Justin, welcome to the Hog! While prime lenses are the best for sharp, high image quality photos, unless you have a camera body for each lens, you stand to miss some very good opportunities while you're changing lenses. When I shoot a wedding, I tend to use my 24-105L the majority of the time; I will use my 20 f/2.8 for large groups, my 70-200 f/2.8 for "distance" shots (from the choir loft and the back of the church) and will be using my 105 f/2.8 for shots of the rings, etc.. And, most importantly, I have backups for my camera body, flash and batteries (AAs and external for the flash and three extra batteries for each of the camera bodies).
Greetings Justin, and welcome to the UHH.

Aloha Justin and welcome to UHH. Mahalo for your service. Yes, this is a great place to hang your photographer hat as there are many here who are willing to help, provide advice and give critiques. Also, a fabulous site to post your photos and to observe others and their photos. The main thing is to have fun and enjoy.

You may want to add a Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM AutoFocus Telephoto Lens to your list. It is thought by many to be the finest portrait lens on the planet.

Hello from The Shire and Welcome to the Hog! I think you will find this place very helpful and enjoyable.
Just a few helpful hints that I have learned that might help you get started...
1. To answer a comment click on the "quote reply" It will address your comment automatically
2. Click on a person's highlighted handle on their avatar and it will take you to their page. Click on the highlighted "number of topics created" and you can view their work.
3. While you're on that page add them to a "Buddies List" if you like their work
4. Avail yourself with the download on a post... Often there is so much more in the download
Enjoy The Hog
