I will be interested in hearing about the Nikon 24-2000 Superzoom and the price for future reference as well as the other Nikon cameras with great zoom capabilities, (always out there trolling for more info. on great products).

P.S. Price does matter.

From what I've read, the price is around $600.00.

Cameras tend to be like most electronic equiptment. As soon as you buy the latest model, a newer model is announced. Stick with what you have for a few years. I'm sure the sx60 will serve you well, I had a sx30 and loved it.

Thanks for responding, causnorign, I have an SX40 and I love it, that's why I stuck with Canon.

I have the SX50 and love it so far. I was considering selling it and saving for the P900, it should be an awesome camera. I changed my mind though..........................i think I'll wait for the 'Next' one to be introduced, you know, the one with an 18-10,000 zoom that takes the photo by voice command, then flips the scene automatically and takes it from the opposite direction, all while uploading your photos to your pc or phone, shoots up to 50 fps (jpg only of course), or raw 25 fps. It will do video with virtual reality feature while allowing you to change the dialogue and manipulate the people in the video all by a voice command.

I guess my point is, there will always be the 'Next' one, so enjoy what you have. It's not always about having the best or latest, but more about what gives YOU, and not someone else pleasure and relaxation.

Good one! It's about the finished product and not the camera that produced it.

It's just under $600! Should be out in April. I got an email from a local Nikon dealer.

Don't know anything about the SX60, but I have a Canon Power Shot S95. It's small enough to fit in my purse (a fanny pack carried over my shoulder) and I can adjust aperture, speed, etc. It's a great back-up camera. I don't have, nor need, a smart phone. My camera will take better pictures than a smart phone.

Wished I would have know about the S95 before I had purchased a Canon Power Shot 260, that sound like a great camera.

One BIG advantage for the SX60 for shooting birds is 6 fps compared to the SX5o at just under 3 fps.

Thanks, walkin64, I'm not too digital camera saavy, but does that mean it will give me better pictures on the action shots?

And there's always the possibility of a return.

Folks with the SX60 have said such good things about it, my inclination, now, is to keep it.

Although it won't hurt to learn about Nikon and other brands and prices, leading to improvements over the SX60.

My next camera may be a Nikon, from reading in the past, got the impression Nikon offered a larger sensor and was better in low light situations? don't Know? waiting to hear from Nikon owners on these points.

Birds and animals move quickly, the more Frames Per Second your camera can shoot, the better your chances for that "perfect" shot.

Of course you mad a mistake. Everything you buy has to live up to your expectations. Like did I spend to much, will it do what I want, are the photo's any good. These are questions only you can answer. It is so hard to remember just how may times I have purchased things and then had second thoughts. Enjoy your new camera. I am sure it will be just fine. Happy shooting.

Wow! That would be some camera but it sounds like it might be out of my price range.

I will keep gathering information about cameras, prices and different brands and what's new on the market.
I rely on those who either own said camera or are have knowledge about different cameras and what' makes one perform better than another.

I'll keep an eye on it through Adorama or B & H Photo, it is bound to go on sale sometime; if my finances are in good shape, it will definitely be in the running.

I need all the help I can get, for the perfect shot has always alluded me.

Do you know if the electric view finder will help me also + the faster Frames per Second in shooting wild birds?

I do set the bar high, but the price is always considered too, it's not what I want, it's what I can afford.

From what I'm hearing from folks about the
SX60 improvements over the SX50, it makes very excited and anxious to receive it, I know I'm going to happy with it.
