I have been a photographer for quite a number of years.
Sometimes I have my camera with me.
Sometimes I don't.
I have never had a "Oh, I wish I had my camera" day.

You don't have to photograph everything in your life.

no you can't photograph everything, but I've had at least two times I said that. I can't belive you've never had one time.

Well, there was that time that Miss Carmichaels bikini top busted off during the students vs teachers diving contest at the year 9 swimming carnival and she didn't realise until way way too late ... but apart from that ... I've never come across Nessie .... or Sasquatch

Good reply lighthouse , like people on Facebook, they even post what they eat, Who cares.😅

Hey, it's good to know what your friends are eating, because it's always satisfying knowing you're having something better!!

Seriously, I too have been shooting a while and have never had a "wish I had my camera", days.
I'll admit there have been a few times I've said, "it would be nice if I had a camera", but it's usually NOT even worth pulling out my cell phone for a shot!!
My phone is like a pace-maker. I got mine stolen about 6 months ago, my heart almost stopped!! Miraculously it kept beating!!
I carry a camera about 10% of the time, unless on vacation where it's almost 100%.

Has anyone bought/tried a JK Imaging camera?

If you're talking about the AZ651, I've heard bad things.
So far, no problems with the others.
I personally have the S-1 m4/3 camera, and other than strange interlocking of functions in the menu and no continuous AF in video, everything is good.

Also, I have tried my 500mm with 2x DTC on m4/3, and it's just insane. Wait till I try it with the 4x on my Kodak for 4000mm equivalent. I could probably use that thing on my tripod as a seismograph.

I'm curious to see what it can do at its telephoto limit. I've owned a Canon SX50 HS for over a year and have been very favorably impressed with it. By comparison, it has "only" a 50x zoom range to 1,200mm equivalent focal length, but it DOES shoot RAW. The image stabilization works incredibly well. It's not my main camera, but considering its typical bridge camera sensor size and price, it performs surprisingly well.

Big deal. I see very limited use for such a long focal length. Some years ago I bought a 100-300 and rarely use it.
The one I liked best was 24-105(film) but I haven't found the equivalent for digital.

In one word "wildlife". Take the scenario of eagles in a nest in a swamp say 500 yards away where you can see them but can't get to them. Don't know what you shoot, but it would seem to me that a 28-300mm would suit your purpose.

Lighthouse... I know we don't need to shoot everything we see. However, those occasions have arisen when I am very thankful to have my trusty bridge camera and capture a spectacular sunset or beautiful eagle that i would otherwise have missed. I don't lug my big rig around, but I am never without some camera.
Each to his own!!

Why is it that Sony and Panasonic decided to do the right thing in putting a 1" sensor in the advanced bridge cameras yet Canon and Nikon refuses to?

28-300? I was going to recommend an Instamatic!

Just think, if they ever get the Mars project going and send those 4 people to Mars on a one way ticket, you'll be able to take nice portraits of them from your back yard.

83x I can't even imagine with my old thousand pound (feels like it) tripod, that I could keep that thing steady at full zoom. I'm guessing they have thought of that with advanced VR as well.
