I grew up in a family so republican that my grandfather was named Ulysses. Then I grew up and had to go to work. I soon realized that the republican party of the 1970s was being run by a few extremely rich people intent on making themselves richer on the backs of the everyone else in the country. I asked my grandfather why this was happenening. He told me that his party had been taken over by a small group of greedy men that were trying to turn back the clock and destroy everything that had been done to get is out of the Great Depression. He said that although he did not like FDR and what he stood for at the time, he now realized that what was done had actually made our country stronger and made us the most powerful nation in the world. He told me to be aware of what was happening and not be complacent because if these men have their way and take over the world, they will take us back to the 1890s and the majority of Americans will be virtual slaves. We had this conversation in 1973 when I was in my early 20's and he was in his early 90s. My grandfather died a few years later so he didn't live to se his prediction come true but we all need to wake up and pay attention to who we vote for. I have not voted for a republican since I had that conversation with my grandfather more than forty years ago. WAKE UP AMERICA!
I know that partisan comments belong in another ca... (show quote)

Don't apologize--Your rant and the grits story both belong in the Onion, right? So it's perfectly appropriate here.

Actually, I don't like any of them. Look where the Dems are taking us. I look at the ballot and see (R) Rotten, (D) Dumbass, (I) Ignorant.

Perhaps, but I stand by my rant, and I don't believe anything I hear on Fox Fake News.

jsmangis said in part..."""""I have not voted for a republican since I had that conversation with my grandfather more than forty years ago. WAKE UP AMERICA!""""

My personal belief is that "BIG X" (ie" "R" or "D" VOTE) voters are the main perpetrators of the problems we see in America.

Do you honestly believe that there are NO honest/good/helpful Republican?Democrat Politicians in the US... if that is the case, then you have more problems than you think.

I am a Conservative voter who has never voted a straight ticket since I was 18 (unless no other options available) There is always a reasonable person available on both sides of an election.... VOTING a straight ticket is what brought President Obama to the Presidency..twice. When a certain group of persons vote 85% one way, as African Americans did in both of the Past two Elections, you know that there is actually no consideration of whether or not the person they were voting for was good or bad....

I have lived under 11 presidents broken down 5/6 in party affiliation, and I can honestly say, that my life didn't change much under any of them...and I don't expect that to change with the next one no matter what affiliation he has..

Mike

Look where the republicans are taking us too.
Both parties are self serving. Both parties are bad.

There is no good party except the one at your house
on Friday night.

How can you not believe anything you hear on Fox if you don't hear or watch them?

Be glad. They remind me of what we fed the pigs on the farm when I was a kid. My mother never cooked grits. The first time I had them was my sophomore year of high school. I remember it because they were so gross and I was required to eat them. And get this. My hubby, who was born and raised in NE PA, thinks they great! gaaaa! Pig feed, that's what they are!
