Selling my Canon and buying Nikon equipment.

Why? I'm not criticizing, just curious. Although I'm a long-term Nikon user (45 years), I've always imagined I'd have been as happy with Canon: it was mostly historical accident that I started using Nikon.

Cheers,

R.

I love my lowepro slingshot 200. I have only had it a year, but if I buy any more equipment it will be too small. :-D It is perfect though for those day hikes.

There's an easy answer to that. Don't buy (or at least, don't carry) any more gear. You might find it interesting to look at the piece on my site about choosing to use less kit, 'Voluntary Limitations', not least because near the end it shows a picture of Frances using her Slingshot and, below that, the Slingshot itself, fully loaded: http://www.rogerandfrances.com/subscription/ps%20voluntary.html

Cheers,

The only reason I chose Nikon over Canon was influenced by my former employer having a large amount of Nikon lenses I could borrow.

Now I am so deep in Nikon bodies, lenses, and flash I would be foolish to switch.

I notice Nikon and Canon simply leapfrog each other with technological advances.

Neither is better.

I enjoyed reading and looking at the good photography on your website. Money will always be a limiting factor in my gear. :-)
My age and the amount I can carry being next. I toted the sling shot with a tripod strapped to it all over the west last spring. It worked great. Since then I have added two more lens to my arsenal and I can't see carrying any more than that.
I would like to add another camera body at some time so I am not always changing lenses, though it is making me pretty good at cleaning the sensor.

here's my second best purchase...called a tripad...it's a slip on shelf over a tripod to hold a laptop computer to tether to the camera while in a studio environment. no bolts, no screws....

it is also awesome.

I saw that and then forgot about it.

I will put it on the short list.

Thanks for the reminder.

i keep forgetting about it too...but i had to use it this morning, so i had to post it.....it is awesome. the solid pullout tray is normally on the right side, but i use a small pen and tablet with my notebook and i am left handed. the other side has a pullout cup holder...but i have always felt that a cup holder around electronic gear is an accident waiting to happen. this is the nicest laptop shelf i have found..and since it is only 2 pcs..it fits in my laptop bag easily.
