Been there - done that. Did not see any Hobbits manufacturing Nikons but saw a lot of people with Nikons and Canons hanging around their necks.

Do yourself a favor and refuse delivery. There is usually a signature required for expensive electronics. Tell the delivery guy you are "refusing delivery." It will then be returned to the shipper and they will have to do a refund. Then call your credit card company and tell them the issues and you don't want to pay for it and they will Not pay the supplier. Then go to B&H.

I second this idea! Unless you get very very lucky, you are in for problems.

Other than a dubious D800/810 nikon dealer sheet I don't think a complete copy of the nikon dealer price list is out there.

If you found it why not just give the link instead of the google it remark.

Just curious, do you have any "bad hobbits"?

Nope. Quit the booze 30 years, 9 months and 2 days ago and the cigarettes 26 years ago. Now I lead a clean life taking pictures and chasing women.

I don't buy it. Either you don't know or you were an authorized dealer, or you're blowing smoke.

Do you mean shooting pictures and chasing women? I don't know how well it works for TucsonCoyote, but I keep stumbling, running into people and dropping my gear. I have found that I can no longer multitask; I must limit myself to one activity at a time.

I can remember when my friends and I could ride hogs, shoot the s**t and chase chicks all at once; then one day I shot my hog and tried to ride a {CENSORED}.

After looking at a bunch of sites.. . I got the D750 and also looked at the D610 as it was almost a toss-up.

Some of these sites are unnerving. . .they advertise the foreign models to grab you with the price (I guess) , but then are hesitant to sell you one if not even refusing to.

What I did learn was the ones from China or thereabouts, are plastic internally where the USA models are metal. . . IF I was being given he right information.

I personally would not buy one from Turkey or Malaysia that comes with NO warranty at all, even though I am a full-blooded-bargain-meister. But you have free will, of course, and it's tempting.

I finally got a NEW full NIKON USA warranty D750 package from daxmart.com for $1999 delivered.

I haggled a bit, without even realizing I was doing so and the guy was quick to drop the price a couple hundred.

This seemed to me a fairly decent deal and I suspect you might get a good deal with them on the D610 too.

That's about all I can say. . .<good luck>
After looking at a bunch of sites.. . I got the D7... (show quote)

wolfiebear, how do like your D750?? Any regrets? I am thinking about getting one but I may postpone the purchase in hopes that the price will eventually come down.

If you read the thread, you'd know she doesn't have it yet. Why not just start your own topic asking for users experiences with the D750?

The thread I am reading clearly indicates that she does have the D750 because she mentioned that it was a toss-up between the D750 and the D610. She decided on the D750 and she bought the full warranty pkg from daxmart.

Like I said "Read the thread." All of it. Especially where she says if she had ordered fro B&H, she'd have it already.

I'm pleased with my D750. Have shot about 5000 pictures with it. No issues that affect me. Don't expect the price to come down anytime soon. Refurbished models may be available direct from Nikon or from Cameta for a few hundred less. Check their web sites if you want to go that way.
