I need information on replacing the lens that came with my Nikon D60... The camera fell, and the lens doesn't work anymore. I was advised to replace the lens.. 81-55mm and wondered what I should choose to replace it with. Ideas???

The 18-55 is a starter lens that comes with the kits. It's not really a valuable lens but a good utility lens none the less. Nikon makes a full range of zoom lenses from the one you have to an 18-300 lens. It just depends on what you want to spend. It might cost $75 to fix the 18-55 but the 18-300's are expensive.

Rick - I have a 300D digital rebel that I dropped and no longer works. Didn't send it to Canon because it would probably cost more to fix than the camera is worth. Please private message me as to what you think.

Sure. I was thinking of listing it in Ebay. People have bought cameras for the parts before. Any reasonable offer and shipping will take it.

I just bookmarked your site too ... thanks!
Do you do any conversion work? I have a Canon XTi that I'd like to convert for InfraRed.

I have a sigma 70-300 mm Macro lens for my Nikon d3000 that is not wanting to work right... it acts like it is trying to focus but it will not.. it doesn't do it all the time... is this an issue with the lens or the camera

I have a 300mm Zeiss lens that has significant blooming and wonder whether it is worth it to have it cleaned as I've heard the fungus can ruin the coatings thus causing flare.
If you believe you can remedy this situation, please provide an estimate and an address.

Thank you,

Bill
