The Tamron comes with software as well. And Regis Tolbert a regular poster on this site, is getting stellar results with his Tammy at 600mm. His Bald Eagle shots are amazing. He's even posted a couple of great BIF shots. Now, I would add that he's shooting it on a Canon 6D FF camera and that seems to be a perfect match. His lens was one of the early one's too. That said, I believe you'll get great results with either the Tammy or the new Sigma. The Sigma Sport reviews better than the Tammy but I would hope so for twice the price and add another 1-1/2lb. or so.

I have a Tamron 150-600 for Canon but was not aware there is software that came with it. Was I missing something in the literature that came with it?

It works great. Focuses quickly and is light for that size lens. Most of all it is Sharp. I use it with a monopod with VC on.
I read that its sharpest at F8.
See the attached photos.

Beautiful shots Ira! I especially like the Heron! Is that a night Heron or a green Heron?

I was thinking of Tamron's Silkypix software - I thought that came with the lens but I must be mistaken... My apologies for any confusion to you or others on here.
