I am so excited to try my new Tamron 150-600 lens that arrived today for my Nikon. Heading out tomorrow to get some shots. Does anyone have experience they would like to share about this lens? Would love to see some pics as well!

Ok here are a couple shots with my Nikon D600 and the Tamron 150-600mm. It does tend to overexpose so I shoot with the meter a little to the left. Then it competes 100% with the Sigzilla.

Too heavy for me to hand hold. Returned it.

That's a little short and sweet.

Not sure what you mean. The exposure meter is part of the camera body, not the lens?

Yes I am talking about the Exposure Meter in the viewfinder or LCD in Live Mode.

Good luck with the new lens. I have the Sigma thats a bit heavier, but I'd still recommend a monopod or a prop of some type. I like to use a heavy pyle towel on a partially open car window. Try it. It works great, plus power elevation. Lol.

Now that's a great idea! Thanks for sharing it.

Look at Regis' postings in UHH. He/she has a ton of photos mostly at the 600mm range and claims them to be handheld. They are with a Canon, but I don't think that will affect the lens results. They are quite wonderful.

I just got the lens too and used it for the first time this past weekend. I'm using a D750 and a monopod with the VC on. It's sharp, light, works great. I read the lens is sharpest at F8.
You'll be very happy with it.

I use this lens on a Nikon D7100 and love it. Go to the websites I have in the tag line to see what it can do. And visit Regis's photos, I think he's using a full frame camera.

Unfortunately, the weather was not very conducive to picture taking yesterday. I am hoping to get out this weekend. This shot was taken from my car. This lens is definitely heavy making hand holding an act for patience and practice! :) I will try to get more pics this weekend.

Great start One Click. You'll get in the rhythm.

I managed to find some birds willing to be out in the cold today! The weather was 5 degrees, almost white out conditions and the wind was howling. The wood duck is cropped at 50%.

the website probably is compressing the images a lot to save space.
You could use IMGUR or other big image host solution.
