That UPS truck went right past my house yesterday!
Stupid drivers!
Last year I ordered a new lens online and it was shipped UPS. The worst part of waiting was being able to track the package online via the UPS website. I watched it get to the nearest UPS distribution center about 90 miles away where it was loaded on the truck for final delivery and then it didn't show up because a snow storm moved in and the driver didn't get to complete his entire route. I had to wait for another full day before it got here!

I know that feeling. After a couple of days tracking my new lens, the big day finally arrived! ...Nothing. Our regular UPS driver was sick, and the relief driver couldn't find my place. :-(
The UPS truck came to my house with a package from Adorama. Ordered a Tamron wide angle for my Canon. Got a Tamron wide angle for a Sony. Shit! Contacted them but no reply yet. I know they'll make good, they're an excellent outfit.
Two thoughts: 1) The enemy of good enough is better. 2) I would rather spend money on traveling to places where you can't take a bad photo then spend it on gee gaws
Good pix, better pix, great pix do not primarily come from equipment. Get a solid outfit: camera quality the best you can afford, all glass good but basic - no use overlapping ranges. Master each item in your gear packer and promise yourself: when I add something I'll get rid of something near that value and near that weight.
Set up a little corner studio and practive with your gear until use becomes reactive. Set up a file where you store ALL your shots - whether you do anything else with them or not. Thumbnail them now and again. If you don't see steady improvement, change direction.
You gotta develop with photography to enjoy all the pleasures of achievement as well as failure. Sure, make some snapshots now and again to record events of the moment, but make your private 'ALL OF THEM' file a record of personal progress. Not only will it make you feel good, it is a wonderful support file to use with the KEEPER OF THE EXCHEQUER.

Perhaps you should 'fess up" so she doesn't get ripped off when she sells... :-)
Hey, if I fess up that bit about dying might come sooner.
How are you feeling Artsmith?
....oh just kidding

Sometime you can work so hard on perfection you can take all the fun out of photography, That has never been my Idea of enjoying my photo's or photography.

The nice thing is that if your wife sells all your stuff for what she thinks you paid for it, some newbe will get a real deal and a chance to continue your legacy.
