These are really very beautiful Bob! I list the flicker as one of my best loved birds. The coloration and markings are quite appealing to me and the detail in your shots are so very nice. Thanks for posting.

I certainly agree with your feelings toward this bird! Thank you for taking the time to view these shots and for your remarks! The pleasure is all mine!

You waited forty years for this flicker? Well, I did the downloads, and I have to say the wait was well worth it! Just excellent shots

You are very kind! I wonder if you, and others, are experiencing slow downloads lately on this site or is it Verizon trying to browbeat me into paying extra for "speeded up" service?

Thanks for dropping by!

These are really top-notch and beautiful. What great timing too, having one of these at the feeder and having your camera ready at the same time. A double plus...

Good morning to you, James! I keep my camera mounted on the tripod and sitting in the kitchen all the time. When i come downstairs in the morning, the first thing I do is get the ISO setting in sync with the lighting conditions, then I put out the bird food. Thanks for your remarks!

Have a nice day!

Unfortunately, I am VERY technologically challenged (read...too dumb to use even a basic computer without the help of my children and grandchildren!). I had Photoshop #9 and was completely overwhelmed so I switched to Photoshop elements and I can limp along using only the simplest enhancements...sharpening, lightening of shadows, cropping, and a little cloning brush for clean-ups. These were all cropped at 50% and fitted to my PC screen. The lighting was fair so the shutter speed and f/stop were adequate.

These were all shot at ISO 800 since the ambient lighting was a bit overcast.

All shot with Canon 400mm f/5.6 mounted on my Canon 6D. I shoot only in JPEG (again, too dumb to cope with RAW).

I hope that this is sufficient and I do appreciate your comments and questions!

Fine, tack sharp captures. 'Must be a Nikon variety with the red "V" behind the neck.
